Luckily my neighborhood is pretty flat so I had minimal uphill pushing. It was about 90 degrees and horribly humid though, so I was drenched in sweat by the time I got home. The next thing I need to figure out is the carbs. After adjusting the valve needle to its second richest position the...

I took it for a ride tonight and it died about 5 blocks from home. Checked the fuses, they looked ok but I had no power when the switch was on. I called my wife and had her run my booster box to me but still nothing. So I pushed it home. Glad it didn’t die further away! When I got home I...

Ok, resurrecting this zombie thread. Life got in the way…new house, new job, kid started and graduated high school, etc. About a month ago I decided to get back to work on the bike. I went with a new color scheme and buttoned up a few things. Today I finished hooking up the fuel lines...

Well...back at it....slowly. Life got in the way, as it sometimes does. Work got crazy and we're in the middle of selling our house and buying another one. The good news is, the new one has a heated garage so maybe I can actually get some work done this winter. Got a little done in the last...

    Suzuki GS550 rookie budget build

I covered my seat with stretch vinyl from here: http://www.sailrite.com/Allsport-4-Way-Stretch-Black-54-Vinyl-Fabric and it turned out ok, but I'd like to try sewing so I can add some pleats. Did you just use a basic machine? I've heard a lot of the regular machines can't handle vinyl.

Zoöid Third Times a Charm CB175

Wife and I happened to be in Austin this weekend and stumbled across the Handbuilt show. We bought tickets and walked in, and almost the first thing we see is this bike. Pretty cool seeing it in person. The level of craftsmanship was on par or better than anything else at the show. Nice work.

    1980 KZ 440 Project

Re: 1981 KZ 440 Project I agree. It looks ok now, but I think once you have a seat on there it might look better with a shorter fender. I really like the way it's all coming together. Looks great.

    '82 KZ440 build - the obsession

Good to know, I think mine just had one rib. I'll be sure to check though. It's not like new boots cost a lot in the grand scheme of things so it's not a big deal.

    '82 KZ440 build - the obsession

Interestingly enough, on my KZ400 I was able to use the stock boots with VM30's. Or at least I think I am, I haven't started it up yet. They fit fairly tight and seem to seal well. I guess if they don't work I'll order the Dime City CB boots, good to know they fit. I used this throttle...

Got a few things done in the last week or two. Stripped the tank and filled the badge holes, then primed and wet sanded. But, I sanded through to bare metal in a couple places so it needs more work before paint. I think I'm going to go with a satin black, with a "ghost" stripe down the...

    The next endeavour...GS450E

Very cool...my first bike was a GS450S that looked exactly like yours, same color and everything, but had a factory fairing. Man I wish I had that bike back.
