Sounds good! Thank you. I will try acetone.
BTW. I found some MEK in the garage, wondering if I should attempt it with this. Otherwise if Acetone is safer I don't mind spending few bucks.
With acetone will I hurt the paint? + do i need to completely fill the tank, that's 2.5 gallons acetone. Disposing of that stuff is another story.

I have no problem running the bike, everything is working. Last winter I neglected the thing and didn't fill up the tank during storage. Well... it rusted. At least that's what I thought.
The interior was all brown speckled just like rust. Filled the whole thing with Evapo-Rust. No...
I need some help here: I am working on a Nighthawk 250. It has 18" front rim and 16" rear rim. Tires are f:90/100-18, r:120/90-16.
My goal is to replace rear rim to 18". Look less like chopper, more like cb350ish cafe. Easiest method is to find another front rim off the same bike and lace the...
What do you guys do for some bikes (honda's in this case) that have plastic film over fork tubes and over brake / clutch lever. they are extremely faded don't know how to remove them without damaging the material underneath.
Update: nighthawk was no go, guy had an offer. Checked out the 750 SS, I wasn't too comfortable with it, felt a bit high and the bike needed more work than I could give it. Which explained the price.

That's good to know. The nighthawk I found is also a 750 from 95 and even cheaper. I just can't stand how they look. I thought about getting the RC42 tank that belongs to the eu/jp bikes in the images above and oh my! They are rare and go for 1k a pop. Cheapest I found was ~$700. At that point...
This is good wisdom. What do you guys think of the nighthawk 750? how different is that form the 80s SS? is it better?
I personally never liked the styling of the nighthawks but I wouldn't mind an old one to mod. Found some EU/JP versions online they look so much better in my opinion. Why is...
Thanks guys! This is good information. It will be difficult to test this bike extensively as MI is under a blizzard every week.

Howdy,
I found a 1980 Honda CB750F. Everything works, starts, runs, shifts. Appears to be painted metallic gold (definitely not original). Electrical seems to be in place. Little dirty which is expected of an old bike as this.
Any advice? Common issues I should look out for? I am a new rider...
Re: My Very 1st: 1978 CB125S
Around-town tomfoolery is exactly the purpose of this bike. 8)
I've seen the CB125J on some EU sites that you are taking about they come with the cool low bars along with a tachometer. I've looked into swapping parts to add the tach but I'm afraid to mess...
