Thanks, I've ordered it. Eventually going to upgrade the whole system with an m-unit but want to make sure this install works well before digging into that, this way I can tell what stage i've messed up on :)
Thanks! just checked it out on your site.. question: the original harness (i was noticing the roundabout routing on the black/white wires as i was installing yesterday) provides power when the ignition switch is on. I'm assuming there should be no issues with it being wired direct instead of...
Just picked this up for my 82 Cb750 project. Just wondering if anyone had any tips before I dive in? Have been looking all over for any tutorials or posts but couldn't find anything specific to a dohc CB... though I'm sure some tips will apply all around...
One more question, For the turn indicator lights, I'm using LEDs that are built into the top triple tree from cognito. Will I need the diode to that you have on the site too?
OK, thanks to your tips and the diagrams for reference, I've got this mostly figured out. A couple things I'm stuck on. For the turn signals, I have matched up the wires that go to the relay (light blue on the gsxr side, gray on the honda side) and the left and right indicators. When I...
I'm building this bike to ride, and I have another one with a dead engine sitting waiting to be built. Also building to build because I enjoy the work. Used to wrench on old cars, now I'm enjoying the bikes. I do realize I need to make sure this bike is 100% safe for ME to ride because I'd...
Thanks guys - I appreciate all this info! This is indeed my first build, but I would like to build more "BSA" bikes after this one, so learning as much as possible from the experts here. Thanks again :)
Hi all,
I've done a GSX-R front end conversion and am planning to keep the GSX-R hand controls. Has anyone done this? I'm in the process of connecting the Honda wiring to the GSX-R right hand control containing the brake switch, starter button, and kill switch. Has anyone done this? In the...
Just wanted to wrap this thread up with some final pics everything installed. I've got an extra set of rotor adapters - if anyone wants to do the same setup, let me know!
Hi everyone!
The saga continues, got my front end all sorted out in terms of wheels, brakes, steering on an 82 CB750 with a gsxr 600 front end. The front end came with the original gsxr clip ons and controls, so I am hoping to reuse these... anyone do the same? Looking for the most...
Thanks Cookie! I'll check those out - did you go with stock sizing, or is there any performance to be gained by varying from stock?
Also, my front comstar is off a 77 Goldwing which calls for 3.50-1 according to specs. The wheel on this one is 1.85x19, but the oem comstar from the 82 are marked...
I'll ask another way maybe someone can chime in... as far as sizing goes, what would be the best modern size tire to go on the comstar that's stamped 1.85x19, the 77 goldwing rim, with 2007 gsx-r600 forks. Then the best modern size tire for the rear, stock 82 comstar which has a 2.5x16 wheel...
Ready for some new rubber for my comstar wheels. Working on a cb750 cafe/brat build with gsx-r front end conversion and wanting some good looking tires to go with it. Any suggestions/recommendation on brand and sizing?
Thanks!
too deeply invested in the comstars to turn back now. http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=73476
Doing spokes on the 77 so wanted to keep comstars on this one.
Adapters have arrived and looking good. They fit on the wheel, and the rotors fit, so that's good... now let's see if i measured the widths properly :)
