I realize I never updated this post with the solution. Actually, the problem was with the HT ignition coil. When a crack occurs in the circuit, low revs will have a hard time but high revs less as the high voltage will arc and pass through. Checking resistance on the coil will reveal that the...
Thanks a lot - I will reclean again tonight to make sure all thoroughly clean!
I haven't change anything lately to justify rejetting. The only fuel filter is at the petcock - I haven't check it out - I will - but why would I be running ok above 3000 RPM?
Hi all
Bonneville T100 2004
since a week about, engine has been having difficulties at revs under 3000. It performs better if choke is on.
Symptoms:
Engine is stopping sometimes at idle
Some backfires
Seems to skip fire at times
It's really like it's too lean.
I checked spark plugs and...
Awesome!
Thanks guys!
It's not a washer but a rubber O-Ring that goes around the plug. Ordered it - it should resolve my leakage.
And yes, the alternator cover prevents from pulling back.
:-)
after further research, I don't believe it to be the neutral indicator switch. See where it is -no wiring attached to it.
when I google neutral indicator switch for CB650, nothing comes up that looks like this :-/
bizarre nothing is mentioned about it anywhere, not even in the maintenance...
Thanks! That’s what I thought. I already changed almost all the gasket on the engine. I do have that o-ring in the kit.
When replacing it, should I put the engine in gear or in any case engine oil will pour out?

Hello!
I had some leakage from the alternator and after cleaning everything, I saw some leakage coming from this part (see pic) - I pulled on it and oil started pouring out....

Guys,
I was told to try Pine Soil to remove carbs.
Cheap stuff and, above all, no toxic fumes.
Here are the results! I think it's pretty amazing!
It took about 2hrs per piston to clean them thoroughly.
Hi everyone,
I just can't seem to figure this one out - feels like a chinese puzzle.
I saw that CB350 had a removal pin (the bottom pin of the cam chain guide) but the CB650 doesn't (or am I missing something?)
Thanks for helping out!
Joffrey
can't seem to find it here in Montreal but will try with something similar such as http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/stp-octane-booster-0380791p.html#srp
