    1978 CB750 F2 SOHC - Carb issue

Sorry I had so much work in the past months I didn't had any chance to go back to the workshop to work on the bike before, but I just did. So I pulled the carbs out again to check the accelerator pump, I noticed the the accelarator pump return spring (on the outside) wasn't correct so I though...

    1978 CB750 F2 SOHC - Carb issue

Sorry for the late reply I was away for work, oh OK I'll check if the mechanical advance works properly then! and probably give it a nice good clean and lube anyway! I'll let you know, I'm just away from the bike right now and can't test this right now...

    1978 CB750 F2 SOHC - Carb issue

I'll check te accelerator pump and float height. I did make sure that float height was right though when rebuilding the carbs.

    1978 CB750 F2 SOHC - Carb issue

Yes the bike was fully warmed up. If I try to reduce the idle speed while it is warm, or hanging at 3500 rpms, it stalls. The bike won't start without the choke when cold either

    1978 CB750 F2 SOHC - Carb issue

Hi, I am in the process of restoring a 78 CB750 Super Sport, the last SOHC model of the 750 fours. The bike sat in a barn for about 20+ years but was in good condition. I completely rebuilt the carbs: tore them apart, did ultrasonic cleaning on every carb body and parts and rebuild everything...

FZR1000 - Start button, nothing happens

I noticed something interesting: when I unplug the blue/white wire from the solenoid, the oil light goes off, then when I plug it to the solenoid, the oil light goes on... so the 2 problems are definitely connected! On the wiring diagram, the only area where the blue/white wire from start...

FZR1000 - Start button, nothing happens

So I just got my new cut off relay... and the problem is still there :( I don't know what could be the issue... I asked the seller again and he keep telling me that the start button stopped working just 2 hour before I bought the bike... and that it worked fined before... I also notice a new...

FZR1000 - Start button, nothing happens

Oh ok I get, I'll test continuity between the two blue/white wires with power off, I know that there is no power and then 12v on the 2 blue/white wire with power ON, I will test continuity with power OFF. Oh okay I get it, well I tried to do that, connect the two blue/white together then press...

FZR1000 - Start button, nothing happens

You mean finding a switched 12V, wire it to the solenoid, but I don't get it about the other side? Another switched 12v to the L/W wire? I have checked and I do have switched 12v at the shut off (between the 2 L/W wires), but again I don't understand how to wire that 12v straight to the button...

FZR1000 - Start button, nothing happens

Well according to the wiring diagram I have, pressing the start button connects the blue/white wire with the black wire, that is connected to the ground pole of the battery. I am not 100% sure if I understood what you said correctly (sorry I'm french), but I tried to : remove the shut off...

FZR1000 - Start button, nothing happens

Oh okay, So the blue/white wire on the solenoid that activates the solenoid, is it suppose to get positive 12V ? or a ground signal, to activate the solenoid ? yes I have the wiring diagram of the FZR1000, which I believe is the same as the FZR 400, the blue/white wire goest through the...

FZR1000 - Start button, nothing happens

Yeah all those safety, clutch, sidestand, etc. were already removed by previous owners, I've seen the sidestand wires plugged all together to eliminate the switch, I've ordered a used relay, we'll see if it is the issue.

FZR1000 - Start button, nothing happens

Well I just did a continuity test with an ohmeter on the plug of that flasher relay (which is involved in the start of the engine) and according to a service manual I have here the relay is defective...

FZR1000 - Start button, nothing happens

Hey guys, So I got a 1988 FZR 1000 Genesis, when I got it, it wasn't starting "normally", ignition, etc. works, but in order to start it, you have to short circuit the starter solenoid with a screwdriver, because the start button has no effect. The start button does work! because when pressing...

    FZR1000 Braking inconsistently

As long as the people are fine, bikes can be fixed ;) Yeah I'll test everything once the bike is back together, right now I started to tear it to pieces for restoration. I'll put the braided line on the rear brake, I'll also install a nissin master cylinder and braided line I got with the bike...

    FZR1000 Braking inconsistently

Yeah the rear was locking up even though I was gently squeezing it, out of all the bikes I've rode, this never happen on any other bike, even with enduro tires on road. When commuting and riding gently (I commute every day on bike), I use more the rear brake to slow down very slowly, to a red...

    FZR1000 Braking inconsistently

Yeah a stainless steel brake line is definitely a good improvement for sure, and I have to admit that a nice red braided line would look nice with the new red fairings :) To be honest I didn't feel any difference when I switched to stainless lines on my '84 FJ600 but at least I now know I can...
