Recently I aquired a 1974 TX500 from a friend with 3 of them. I had to do a motor swap right away because the plugs on the original motor (with 9800 miles! ) broke off flush with the head. The new motor came out of the third bike (He is building a cafe out of his) and it has 24,000 miles on it...
74 yamaha tx500, runs great at idle and when first riding as it warms up the right cylinder seems to cut out and in turn creates a jerking motion while riding, it has points ignition, my buddy thinks it's in need of points and condensors seeing it's orignal but i think it's something else...
