    33mm clipons

I got these for a project but never ended up using them. They are aluminum, very adjustable, and have never been used. Have a few scratches from being mounted on the bike and being in the garage all winter, but they're in good shape overall. Asking $95 shipped to the lower-48, from...

    My KZ440 / KZ400 Cafe Project(s) – Turbocharged 440, Daily 400

Got another bike today. This one might end up getting the turbo, I haven't decided yet. It's a 78' KZ750 twin. 8k on the clock, and fucking clean as hell. Tons of stock parts, and aftermarket stuff too, came with it. I'm picking it up in a week and I'll snap some more pics then.

    My KZ440 / KZ400 Cafe Project(s) – Turbocharged 440, Daily 400

Nah the rearsets only took a day. I'm in Auburn Hills, MI. I only have a shitty Harbor Freight flux-core welder, but man can you do a lot with one of those and an angle grinder and corded drill.

    My KZ440 / KZ400 Cafe Project(s) – Turbocharged 440, Daily 400

Temp dropped so I sort of lost my momentum, but I did get some stuff upgraded on the 74': -Rearsets from an 07' GSXR 1000, got the pair on eBay for $80 shipped! Bought stuff to make the linkages from McMaster Carr...have about $150 into the entire setup. I still need to re-locate the kick...

    My KZ440 / KZ400 Cafe Project(s) – Turbocharged 440, Daily 400

Sorry for the lack of update folks, I'll try to get some pics tonight. I have a microsquirt board that will be controlling the EFI stuff. I'm using throttle bodies from what I think was an R6. I have 2x sets, in varying conditions. I believe they are Mikuni throttle bodies. Anyways, they...

    My KZ440 / KZ400 Cafe Project(s) – Turbocharged 440, Daily 400

Got back on the 400 this week....it's been beautiful and crazy warm in Michigan! Ordered some rearsets for this bike and some different grips...hopefully some soft grips and an improved riding position will make it more comfortable. It's not that it's uncomfortable but the aluminum grips hurt...

    Salvage yards???

Wondering if anyone knows of any salvage yards for bike parts, or any good place to get old parts for cheap. I'm in the Auburn Hills area, and closer is better!

    My KZ440 / KZ400 Cafe Project(s) – Turbocharged 440, Daily 400

No time for a super detailed update, but needless to say this bike is pretty much done (the 400). Take a look; had a seat modified and covered ($105 bucks for material and labor), got new shocks, painted the wheels, put new tires on, put some vinyl on, etc. Also finally fixed the oil leak by...

Scratch this itch about a turbo!

The link I put up was for a knockoff KKK KP35. I'm well aware of KKK.

    My KZ440 / KZ400 Cafe Project(s) – Turbocharged 440, Daily 400

Moving right along. Been riding the 400 and loving it. I've had a few problems, working through them one at a time. Pretty bad oil leaks at first, and extremely erratic idle. Pods, carb adjustment, etc. All messing it up. I also ordered new tires, a new chain and sprockets, and some other...

Scratch this itch about a turbo!

Short answer is no, long answer is yes. Turbocharger sizing is pretty complex (But I've a lot of experience in it!). The most important consideration (just in selecting the right size turbo) is the compressor map. You need to calculate the engine flow at various RPM points (and at various...

    My KZ440 / KZ400 Cafe Project(s) – Turbocharged 440, Daily 400

I've put about 100 miles on the bike and have really enjoyed riding it. There are a few issues with it, but all of them are fairly manageable...small oil leak from one of the lash adjustment covers (new gasket ordered), and erratic idle RPM (new carb holders ordered). Besides that, the only...

DTT MEMBER 240punk, I'M CALLIN' YOU OUT.

Re: CHECK OUT MY NEW HELMET! Sorry this happened...it always sucks getting screwed with online forums. However, paypal has you covered. Escalate the dispute to a claim (if you haven't yet), and if he fails to respond and/or provide a tracking number you'll get your money back.

    My KZ440 / KZ400 Cafe Project(s) – Turbocharged 440, Daily 400

Just fixed the slip. I had been following the clutch adjustment procedures for the KZ440, and turns out the KZ400 is very different. No more slip at high-rpm, and the clutch cable is MUCH easier to squeeze now! Niiiice.

    My KZ440 / KZ400 Cafe Project(s) – Turbocharged 440, Daily 400

Electrical and mechanical fabrication is not really a concern, it's just time. I've done way, way, way more complicated modifications and fabrication that I anticipate on this bike. I'm going to make the efi switch a winter project, and do it right...one step at a time. Yeah I'm just over...

    My KZ440 / KZ400 Cafe Project(s) – Turbocharged 440, Daily 400

Got it plated and took the KZ400 for it's first ride in what must have been a few years. LOVE, love, love the bike. It's got a few issues, but I'm sorting through all of them. The drum brakes suck, I can't stop nearly as quickly as I could on my Buell...I actually went to stop for a red...
