Missing the oil filter spacer CB750

So, I'm checking out my "free" CB750. Went to see if there's any metal in the filter, and while there isn't any metal. There isn't any filter spacer either. I have 2 questions, 1. Should I expect engine damage? 2. Where can I get one? I looked on Fleabay and couldn't find anything.

    My CB750. Maybe.

Trying to figure out what to do about this bike. No paperwork. The last 3 owners didn't have paperwork on it either. It's seems to have a lot of workable parts. Started kinda messing with it today. I had a set of Norman Hyde's that wouldn't work on my 650, (air fork inlets in the way). So I...

    So I left for awhile

I had a CB650 brat style, that I thought was done. So I sold it, thinking that I would soon get something newer, faster. But the wife thought money would be better spent on the house. Mind you, she probably wasn't wrong as our house was an absolute POS. And we are trying to sell it to move to a...

Sold the bike, looking for my next daily.

Well, my pos 650 got sold to a college kid in Seattle. I thought I wasn't done with it. But after riding, wrenching, wrecking, the same bike for 10 years. Then finally getting it to where it seemed to run decent and not leak oil. I Started riding it and realized it was time to move on. Oh well...

Do I need to change the oil after breaking in New clutch plates? Or do I just go with a normal service interval?

    Comstar single disc front issues.

Is there a model of Honda that had Comstar rims with single front disc? Noticed a while back that my front rim isn't quite centered in my forks. Doesn't handle bad, just bugs the shit out of me. Any ideas? I just put new bearings and painted these not too long ago.

Bikes been down so long the laws changed!

In the time that my bikes been busted, 3 major laws have passed in my state. The one that I like best is the one that says that I can run red lights if I have to wait a full green cycle.(If it's clear that is? :o)

    Clutch springs how tight?

Putting new clutch springs in my CB650 and I'm wondering how much do I need to torque them? I've googled it up and all I can find is between 6-9 ft.lbs. if I try and torque them down the springs stack up before any actual readable torque happens. this doesn't seem right. It looks to me that the...

Thinking about selling CB and getting a really good all arounder.

The wife and I were on our way to Seattle with our kids when we started talking about the age of our vehicles. The,"we are gonna need new cars soon" conversation. The wife thought I was closer to being due because the Subie is close to having 260,000 on the clock. I feel the Odessey is closer...

What's the biggest douchebag move you've seen on a bike?

On the way to Wenatchee this afternoon I watched this rider with a large group,( betcha cant guess what brand of bike they were on) stop on a highway. Across the incoming traffic lane (ours). And park his fucking bagger there so the whole group could cross traffic w/o stopping. The wife had to...

    My dream bike.

Wouldn't it be nice to find a bike that when it stopped running, the PO just pushed it in the garage? My last two bikes were owned by people with great big arms, and no perceivable skillset. I mean they are nice enough people, just a little ham fisted. My step dad is a good example. Big dude...

Ideas on getting stuck bolt out?

Trying to get a headbolt out of my CB650. It's very stuck, I've tried heating the case and applying WD-40, then going to an impact driver. Now the head is trying to round off! I'm thinking the next step is drilling the head off, seeing if I can get the head and jugs off then taking a stud...

    Love the hump.

So, your bike doesn't have a kick start. The rear wheel is of a smaller diameter than the front. And horror of horrors, the back of the frame is NOT straight! What are you gonna do? I'm in the same situation myself. Done some stuff to it that I really liked. Never really loved the bike as a...

TX 500 150.00 bucks worth it?

I found a TX 500 on craigslist for 150.00. It's a 74, looked up some reviews on them that said they weren't the greatest bikes Yamaha put out. Anybody got an opinion on these things? The add said it wasn't running but would kick over had seemed to have good compresion. Carbs look clean but need...
