Clear coating a raw steel tank — Rattle can?

Here is a replacement tank I got for my wife's CB350four. I only used the krylon clear to protect it from further surface rust. I haven't decided if I am going to polish it or go for the brushed look. So if any of you have suggestions send them. She does like the red. I was just trying...

Clear coating a raw steel tank — Rattle can?

For removing crud from inside. I used metal rescue. $25 a gallon at home depot. Works great. After I cleaned it out I used Red Kote from Damon industries. You can buy it at some O'Reilly auto parts stores. 1 pint does 2 tanks. $35 a pint. Dime City Cycles only uses red kote. They also sell...

Clear coating a raw steel tank — Rattle can?

Okay, the pedal car I bought online at speedway motors. It was a bare metal kit. I used Eastwoods lab metal for body filler instead is bondo. Then, I used Dupli-color rattle can in GM blue. After I was happy with that. I then used the Eastwood crsion of 2K clearcoat. Same exact stuff as...

Clear coating a raw steel tank — Rattle can?

I tried to order the spraymaxx. But, I was in Hawaii at the time. I think Eastwood's is a relabeled spraymaxx can. Glad to know that both are out there for guys like us. My wife's CB350four cafe build is going to cost a lot less. And I can say I did all the paint and body work.

Clear coating a raw steel tank — Rattle can?

The only thing I use is Eastwood company's 2K paints. If you don't use a 2 part paint any fuel that drips on it will eat it away. I swear by this. I am doing my wife's CB350 in a raw steel. It is kind of pricey but worth it http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-s-2k-aero-spray-high-gloss-clear.html

    whats it take?

I would search these posts for everything. Re-gearing your could have positive effects. Dropping three teeth in the rear only will provide only one result. But, so people change 1 tooth up front and 1-3 at the rear. It has been 10 years since I re-geared a bike. I don't remember what I changed...

    Wheelies...

I've done wheelies on sportbikes. But they need that. Our bikes, EVERY ONE of them look a hell of a lot better going 40mph than they do going 100mph on the highway. If you decide to keep trying them, invest in some type of frame sliders. Or buy a crappy dented tank to protect yours. I Wish you...

    Very cool tail light...

Your biggest headache is going to be the wiring. My Thruxton has a license plate bracket in the same location. The wiring is ugly. PM me and I will send you a picture.

    Where to buy multicolored wire?

http://oregonmotorcycleparts.com/ I ordered a few things from him. This winter I am rewiring my CB350four. I has one fuse that makes it simple. But if you have to trace an issue it makes it real hard. Good luck

New member in Texas with barn find cb450

As crazy as this might sound- check craigslist. I have seen a bunch of honda cb's in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and here in Killeen. Some were great deals. I bought a set of CB400 cylinders to overbore my 350f on CL. Deals are out there. Just have to keep watching.

New member in Texas with barn find cb450

Re: New member in Texas with barn find Kruck, Another thing to be concerned with is the tank. Everyone here can tell you how hard it is to find a tank without rust. That thing could be corroded to the poijnt that it leaks. Red Kote available at O'rielly or online is a great tank coating...

    Securing tank on cb350f

I have a '73 CB350f. The front of the seat doesn't hold the back of the tank. It sits close to cosmetically hide the rear rubber mount. You don't have to worry about it as long as the rubber is in good condition.

How NOT to ask a longtime member for help. PLEASE READ THIS.

First let me start by saying Thanks to all for the help you have given and the help you will give in the future. I am a SFC in the Army. So I am fully aware that it is a joint effort to complete a project. Even if it is only advice. I asked about a movie I saw when I was 6 on a horror movie...

    Running Lights (Turn Signals)

I tried the low intensity brake light wire. It is being over loaded. I will try a running it from the headlight wire. But that will have to wait until later tonight. Time to pick my wife up from the airport. Thanks again everyone.

    Running Lights (Turn Signals)

So the three prong is good. But I am not wiring something correctly. My front signals are grounded to the nut that holds them to th einside of the headlight buckets- Soldered, then the orange and blue wires connect to the switch for left and right. The rear is grounded with the black ground...
