What should I do about my tank?

I tried using small nuts while the clr was inside the tank. Let the clr sit over night, then shook it up a bunch. It helped but there is still visible rust. I have not even considered sealer yet, need to eliminate the rust first.

What should I do about my tank?

Building a 75 cb550. The original tank has a decent amount of rust on the inside. I have given it several baths in clr, and the rust wont fade. I contacted Rusteco and it will cost $125 to treat a five gallon tank. I also sourced a new steel tank which costs $250. What do you guys suggest?

Welcome. Try Royal Oak on Thursday nights. Its mostly sport bikes and crotch rockets but you will see a few cafes in the mix. I live in Bloomfield and frequent Birmingham and Royal Oak areas. Drop me a line if you need someone to meet you out there. Zack

Glad to see youre making head way! I ran a search on how to prevent flash rust for you. It seams most car restoration guys either spray with primer or use one of two metal prep solutions. The one mentioned most is called Ospho, and the other is called Picklex20. Both remove rust, inhibit rust...
