Sorry I'd misread your post! I was thinking you had 16" front wheel and were going to go to 18". Changing rear wheel size has a potential for real problems!!! As you have mentioned having sufficient clearance between the top of the tyre and the underside of the rear seat and clearance between...
Hi Hybrid
Thanks for your message. Before doing alterations to the geometry of your bike, have a clear idea of what those alterations are going to do to the way it handles. I do not have any specific knowledge of your model bike but as a general rule, it's not a good idea to change rim size...

Re: cb550 Less Is More....*engine's hoodie off*
LOL! I was looking at the photos of your M1 VW motor on my phone. The screen's not big enough to get an overall view and it had me thinking f***ing hell that CB550 motor looks awesome!! Thought you must have really been moving fast on this...
Once again thanks for all the kudos re the finished bike and thanks to all who have commented here. Much appreciated and very flattered to win BOTM!
A quick little update. No pics I'm afraid. After Christmas I went for a great ride to one of the local Sydney beaches for breakfast and coffee...
If the number on your crankcase changes, it will only matter if you have current registration papers for the bike because the new engine number will not match the rego papers. However if you are re-registering the bike and getting new rego papers, then you need to get a "blue slip" where they...
Hey wow! I won :D :D :D
Thanks to everyone who voted and special thanks to those who have offered lots of support and comments along the way. My only wish now is that it was something with a bit more power that I had found under the tree 2 years ago!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Hey Neevo, I went to an auto wrecker and bought the complete wiring loom off a wrecked car for $50. It gave me a huge amount of multiple colours. If you can't match the original honda colours you can just make a note of what colour you used. e.g. blue honda wire replaced with yellow mazda wire...
Haha! Obviously I'm not the one to give advice on this issue!! I'm off gallivanting with the family around the USA at present so haven't had a chance to look into the oil leak issue yet. I have had a chance to pick up some dirt cheap second hand 900SS parts for the next project though (750F1)!!!
Went for the first longish ride on mine (well it was from the city to Manly beach anyway...) last week and ended up with my right shoe covered in oil and ran out of petrol 400m from home!! Aside from that, all good!!
Ahhh yep gotcha! Love the phrase "bamboo frame technology" LOL Kind of sums up the seventies for the Japanese! All horsepower and no handling. Kind of the opposite for the Europeans back then which tended to be all long wheel base, "slow" handling and no power!
Now that I've got a reliable...
Hey that is absolutely awesome Hoosier Daddy!! Thanks for doing that, huge appreciation! I also appreciate all comments re my build. It was a first up "proper" bike build/re-build for me and I'm very happy with how it turned out. Big learning process for the next one too (which will be a 750F1...
Unfortunately I am traveling and I'm at the mercy of the world's crappiest, slowest and unreliable Internet connection. It's a bit difficult to spruik my bike or post more pictures at the moment but I'm goin to try in the next day or two if I can get a better connection. Good luck to all BOTM...
Re: the RaZoR - signs from the heavens?
Just read the whole thread Crazy...awesome work! Used to ride an RD250LC. My second ever bike before I moved onto the ducatis. Can't say I was overly fond of 2 strokes generally but the power rush was pretty addictive! Great work with this!
How much...
