Bark busters / hand guards and small windscreen wanted

I will almost certainly drop my enduro next weekend - if you have hand guards for sale I'd like to buy 'em. I would also like a little windscreen because they're neat.

    Biltwell bubble shield

It turns out that I am an idiot, and it is impossible to put my glasses on through a bubble shield. So, if you're not an idiot, and you need a clear bubble shield, let me know. If you've sent me parts on the cheap, it's yours for the cost of shipping; if you haven't, send me something in trade...

    Ultrasonic Carb Cleaning

It's wintertime - and your carbs are disgusting. Look at them. Jesus. Good thing you know somebody with a medical-grade ultrasonic cleaner. Ship your dirty, dirty carburetors to us and we'll clean the shit out of them: $40 for the first carb, and $35 for each after that (up to a rack of...

Learning from our mistakes OR shit not ta do

When I changed the fork oil on my Goldwing, I carefully loosened the upper triples, unscrewed the LH fork cap, removed the spring. As I unscrewed the RH fork cap, about a quarter-turn from it coming out, I thought "oh no that's holding the bike up!" right before the cap flew across the shop...

    things that make me grumpy

Neighbor dropped off a pressure washer that won't start up; engine has no compression. Options for repair are: (a) buy another non-working unit from Craigslist for $50 which appears to have a bad pump, but a good engine ($50) (b) buy replacement parts from Briggs & Stratton for this engine...

    Doing the 1/3 Ton - 1978 GL1000

Brought it home tonight. Top box, trailer hitch (!), sidecar electric hookup came off tonight. Decided to leave the rear rack on for the time being; hiding the wiring to the Bates bags will be something of an endeavor and I'll wait until I have an evening to do that. Much of the auxiliary...

Putting my new 'wing to use

I am heading from Kalamazoo, MI to Raleigh, NC for a wedding on September 21; I think I'm going to shoot for doing the first 600 miles on Friday the 20th and then finishing up Saturday morning, then rocking the ride back all day Sunday (and leaving Monday as a buffer in case I don't have an Iron...

Charging system leaves local man baffled

I have good AC voltage from the stator; good charging-range voltage from the regulator; and a battery that shows no voltage rise across the terminals when the engine is revved, nor a significant voltage drop under load. Ideas for further troubleshooting?
