The battery was changed over to a pretty tiny gel cell sealed dealy that I strapped to the underside of the swing arm with a leather belt. Not sure that it was super effective doing it that way though, but it looked cool :). Definitely had to reject for the pods too which was a major pain.
ohhh, seeing that expansion chamber has me wondering if one of those would work on my yb100. anyone from the peanut gallery care to comment on that idea?
so the local parts shops cant get my sealed beam anymore so I am faced with either tracking down a used headlight or getting a whole new assembly shipped to me at the speed of light so I can actually ride this beast. Are there any shops in canada that you guys use that might have some slick...
1978 kz200. how generic are rear shocks? I need a set of new shocks that are A LOT stiffer than the ones I have, possibly even a half inch or so longer. what do I need to know to go about finding some from the dumbasses at the parts counter without too much soul pain. I'm thinking what are...
its staying bare for at least what is left of the summer. this is my first bike and I'm so happy with how it turned out ( and where it is going). important info from the test ride: taillight needed to be moved and hot damn I need some new rear shocks

I got most of it with the circa stuff but at a certain point it just stopped taking off any paint so I dug in with the sandpaper and steel wool. looks fantastic. I'll get some insurance on the bike and take it for some beauty shots tomorrow to show off ;)
Re: the killer KZ200 comes to life! now with bitchin new seat! muahaha

Re: the killer KZ200 comes to life! now with bitchin new seat! muahaha
Haha a Freudian slip I'm sure ;). A guy by the name 'champ' from caferacer.net makes them.
Re: the killer KZ200 comes to life! now with bitchin new seat! muahaha
does the shim material come in tube form or flat? would it be more advantageous to get a larger clip on and make a more sturdy shim ie. a 34 mm with a 1.5 shim?
Re: the killer KZ200 comes to life! now with bitchin new seat! muahaha
with the seat and the work required on the frame (lopping off the rear section and grinding down the unused tabs and brackets) he charged me $450. he is in cobble hill just outside of duncan bc. he does high end hot rods...
Re: the killer KZ200 comes to life! now with bitchin new seat! muahaha
I found a set of 31mm clipons that I like. Is it totally unsafe to make up that millimeter with a thin sheet of rubber?
Re: the killer KZ200 comes to life! now with bitchin new seat! muahaha
thanks guys, I'm pretty happy with it, sits back just far enough. It actually started off as a cardboard version of what I thought mysta2's Seat looked like on his "loud bike" and this guy ben made it come to life. I'm still...
