Ahhh so I take it there is a divider inside the tank sectioning off each side. Manuals it is then I'm going to look into that single shutoff idea should be able to fab something up. I've been reading a few threads on getting rid of the points and going with a more updated system. Any thoughts...
So only benefit of the vacuum is the auto shutoff? I could put manual ones on and turn them off myself with no issue on fuel delivery.
Also would there be an issue with blocking one off and use one petcock with a splitter instead of 2 leads off the tank?
Just picked up a 77 XS 750 sweet deal should make a nice little cafe project.
Question I have is can I use manual petcocks on it in place of the stock ones?
whats the real point of the vacuum hose on them? can you just have a gravity feed to the carbs?
Im looking at starting into a 1979 CB 750k project. The bike I'm looking to buy has spoke wheels on it. Found a pair of Comstars off a CB 650 (single caliper front, Drum rear) in good shape. Was just wondering if anyone knew if they were a direct bolt on or if some modification would be...
I've got a question about your 440 swap. Just pistons/jugs/head and cover? all the other parts are interchangeable? also, you notice a big difference in overall power? low mid high range? I have an old 440 motor I got for free from a friend wasn't sure what to do with it I have all the parts...
The ticking and the high compression let me to believe your timing was out a tooth either way, but now that you have checked it and its bang on i'm kinda stumped as well...

Ahhhh I've heard someone else suggest the 30's as well they said the same i'd get more out of a smaller carb. Would I need new boots off the engine to compensate for the smaller carb? I know dime city has 30's for like 90$ a piece not a bad price to lose the big headache of making the bike run...
awesome thanks for the info guys, I's feeling i'm going to try to track same Mikuni VM 32's from my research they seem to be the carb of choice. May wait to see how my bike runs on the open road with the pods it seems to idle like a dream but running may be a total different story. I dont want...
