Haven't posted much since my CB750 build. Here is the latest project. Started out as a plain jane Sportster 883. Now its a 1200 screaming eagle cafe racer. My own tail and rearsets. Here's one for the Harley crowd. Before: After:

smaller turn sigs and headlights. Where'd you order yours?

Not sure on the size of those bolts. Do you know if they are the same size as the CB750s? If so I can go to the shop and measure both the 72 and the 79.

smaller turn sigs and headlights. Where'd you order yours?

I used the small ones you can find at any motorcycle shop. I bolted the fronts directly to the headlight bucket (replacing the mounting bolts) and the rears bolted into the frame mounts. Very easy conversion. You do not need to be an expert to wire these babys on.

    79 CB750K Rear Tail Shaping

You are way too kind. Now if I can just get motivated to start on the 72 CB750, finish the xs650 bobber, and put together the 83 XR350R. I really enjoyed riding today. The new rear shocks seem to work fine. These are the ones I got off ebay from France. They shipped quick and were easy to...

Did a few more updates, new GSXR1000 rearsets, jet kit, rings, rear shocks, filters, rebuilt carbs, some minor detailing. Still a few more items to go. Hopefully this shows that the 79-82s are still worth building a cafe out of. Before: After:

    79 CB750K Rear Tail Shaping

Been lazy and haven't posted in a while. Here are pictures from lunch today. I've added rear shocks, new chain, finished jetting the carbs after a new Dynajet kit, new filters, replaced rings, and removed the old rearsets and fabricated brackets for these 06 GSXR1000 rearsets. Still need to...

    79 CB750K Rear Tail Shaping

I used the 2 "V" brackets on each of the turn signal stems. Then I mounted mini turnsignals on the outside of the fairing on the same stems. It's really pretty simple once you get it to sit right. You may have to play with bending the V brackets just a small bit.

    79 CB750K Rear Tail Shaping

Ask away. Anything I can do to help let me know. My bobber is a bit on the back burner due to the two truck projects. I'm also working on another customer 66 C10. Business is a bit slow with the economy but trucks seem to be picking up. Here's the pic I promised on the seat cover.

Here's a pic of the 1950 5 window. I plan on taking it back apart and rebuilding it (perhaps a different color) this year.

    79 CB750K Rear Tail Shaping

Thanks for the compliments. Yes, once I popped the plug off I did a lot of finish sanding and bondo to get the smooth shape I wanted. Then just normal paint process. I took the bike to my upholsterer to do a leather cover ($60). I'll post a couple more pictures when I get back to the shop...
