Went through the same with my kz305. The carbs were the issue and it took completely disassembling them and soaking them in m.e.k. After I was sure they were really clean I balanced them as well. Good luck finding the problem.
Ive seen triumphs rolled into the back of the new style grand caravans without removing wheels but I think they flipped the bars. You should be able to shoe horn it in. Maybe ask the seller for some dimensions so you can measure your van?

Dont give up a bike that looks that good is just begging to be ridden. Btw did you cut the seat loop or is it unmolested?

Re: 82' KZ440 Cafe' Brat Build: Now it's done, for now
Just read from start to finish great job bringing her back to life. You've given me lots of inspiration for my kz305 build. Hopefully you dont mind a little copycat action.

I hear you guys but I gotta say I have a love hate relationship with loud exhaust. Both the mad ass and my 1980 Harley Sportster are loud and I love opening them up but I try to keep the full throttle rips to more desolated areas. My Ural on the other hand has a nice quiet exhaust it's no wonder...
Wish I could take credit for the exhaust. Its for a monkey bike that I obtained from a seller in china via ebay. Fits nice but it is very very loud. My neighbors don't like it lol
