    The Free Kawasaki Z650 Project

I love a resto mod. IMHO, the tank decal doesn't look bad. Doing away with it is expensive. JAT. Corbin has better looking seats for KZ bikes. I'll be very interested to see where you take it. Nice bike!

There are some nice harness supplies here. https://revivalcycles.com/collections/motorcycle-wiring-harness I'm also a huge fan of F4 tape. I also know it as cohesive tape as it only sticks to itself and no gooey mess, ever. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/pages/cs/tape_electrical/rescuetape.php

My intent is an aftermarket top clamp. Otherwise, the stock switch will suffice. But, without the stock clocks and pilot box it's really going to stick out. Yes, I certainly understand your point.

I had my 9 yo grandson remove the engine. He did it all but pull the lump. If the nut was too tight, I showed him where to grab a longer pull handle. This is what it’s all about!

I'm an XS650 geek myself. I've been caring for this one since new. Last weekend, I rode it 600 miles to Barber and back. It's coming up on 61,000 miles. I did the top end last winter.

That was two cups of the phosphoric acid product in that five gallon bucket mixed with water. Where there's rust, it left a hard iron phosphate behind. There was no flash rust. I painted the underside of the fender with chrome color Rustoleum. Once adorned with a taillight, license plate and...

Yes, the one in the museum has no identifying plaque. Where I'm concerned, it doesn't much matter. If I had to guess, my uncle was riding a prewar bike. According to my mother, that photo was likely taken by his then wife on a trip from California to visit family in Western NY, probably...

I got a deal I couldn't pass up on these 1.75" stainless pipes. They're too big for putzing around Mississippi roads, but there's a fix for that. It's a very nice fit right up against the exhaust port. These will go into the back end of the pipe. I got these from 650 Central. They are 1...

The tank and body side panels have gone off for paint, because I had the opportunity to get it done. The side panels will be black with OE "Special II" decals. I chose Toyota Calvary Blue for the tank. JB Weld fix.
