    My Completed GL500 Cafe Racer

just trying to defend the choice of another, and renounce some of the negativity...which apparently got under some people's collar. I haven't been on this forum in a long time, as I was more busy riding (76 cb550 cafe'd, a 93 suzuki gsxr, a 04 kawa vulcan). just picked up a pair of gl500's...

    My Completed GL500 Cafe Racer

point taken. I agree about safety, I have two kids, and I don't ride unless I'm confident I'll be back later that day. As soon as october hits, I drop the insurance and park it. it gets too cold at night to take a chance riding the bike home and hitting the one spot that froze up. And I...

    My Completed GL500 Cafe Racer

missed my point. my appologies if i was unclear. To categorize any person not riding every day all day as a "hipster" or poser, or whatever you want to call it is unfair and unrealistic. a bit like the guy who brags that he doesn't own a t.v. The fact is motorcycles are not the best, safest...

    My Completed GL500 Cafe Racer

forgot to ask why I got wrapped up in this in the first place. What size are those tires actually? the rear looks really close to the swing arm on the inside. I'm trying a bobber version, and want to fit a fender in that gap too, so want to know exactly what size your rolling on there. Thanks.

    My Completed GL500 Cafe Racer

two things... 1. That's a cx 500 custom, not a gl500 silverwing. gl has a monoshock. unless that was replaced in the build. regardless, that's an awesome bike. 2. If you are constantly riding, every day, using your bike as your primary mode of transportation, then those tires aren't the...

I would ship to canada for the right price. It is about double to triple the cost (40 to 60 us dollars).

honda 550 and 500 carbs and parts.

As I said, I don't really know the value of them, because I don't know if they are in good operable condition, and I don't have the time to tinker with them to find out. I do believe between the two sets of 550 carbs you could make one with a bit of work and a rebuild kit. I've seen individual...

honda 550 and 500 carbs and parts.

sold the bike...don't need the carbs. 3 sets. looks like 2 from a 550 and one from a 500. I also have a bunch of small extra parts. some o-rings, and rebuild parts, etc. I don't know the condition of any of these, as I got them with the bike and never needed to install them as the bike had...

suzuki gsxr 600 streetfighter upper mich, north wisc

Re: suzuki gsxr 600 streetfighter oh, and I will think about trades. I'm looking for at least 1000 cash plus trade motorcycle, cause I do like riding. But I'd like something in running condition cause I just don't have the time to spend in the garage right now.

1993 suzuki gsxr 600 for sale in Menominee Michigan for 1700.00. (that's an hour north of Green Bay, WI) Second little one arrived and I've barely had time to use it this summer. Runs great, no leaks. Fast and loud. The only things wrong are: The fuel petcock is frozen open The can is loose...

POST A PIC OF YOUR FIGHTER.....

    a) to each their own b) no one asked you c) some people enjoy spending 200 bucks on a beat up POS and turning it into something that is unique and interesting. Anyone with a spare income can buy a harley...they all look the same to me. Anyone can buy the new Buell "cafe racer" (1125cr I think)...

POST A PIC OF YOUR FIGHTER.....

Just got it. Had a cb550 I was working on, but it had engine issues and got a good deal trading it in for this 1993 Suzuki GSX-r 600. (I'm scared to delve into engine rebuilding....I can adjust and bolt stuff on, but the honda had more trouble than I wanted to deal with....gave me more in...

cylinder 1 and 4 exhaust cold to touch.

you've all given me a great starting point. My battery is junky...I don't know how old it is but I have to recharge it if it sits too long, so I'll try that first. Unfortunately I'm going to lose two more weeks of valuable michigan summer riding time as I will be out of town...hopefully I can...

cylinder 1 and 4 exhaust cold to touch.

yes, it is a cb550, 78. Does anyone know a good resource for how to go about checking the points and timing, because I really don't have a clue. It makes sense that timing could be way off, since 1 and 4 both run together on the same circuit. All I have is the internet, a clymer manual, and a...

cylinder 1 and 4 exhaust cold to touch.

which means they are not firing. And rpm will not register correctly. I tried to start it today, and it wouldn't. I charged the battery, and it still wouldn't. After turning the throttle a bit, she fired up. With the throttle about 1/4 turned, I can keep it running, which is how I...

Tapered Air Vents on a 75 CB550-- need help with install...

i put the cone filters on mine, got em off ebay...round, 39 mm... but my carbs are not the original. Like you, I had trouble fitting them and had to 'bend' them a little to squeeze in the space on the outside. Once I got the metal clamps in place (under the choke lever), I tightened it up...

    Master Cylinder rebuild

I ended up going a whole seperate direction. I got one from a guy who has about 10 junk bikes (he wants to start a salvage yard). Its off of a kawasaki, (650 I think...there wasn't much left of it.) 10 bucks and It seems to work just fine. Thanks all for your help and suggestions.
