    Take 2: CB750K2 Steampunk(ish) Bobber Thing

Thanks guys! Really chuffed with the reception it's getting too... slightly better than when it started out over on the SOHC4 forums!

Hey folks, thanks so much! A good tight race, and for sure some excellent competition. I also especially dig Sonic's machine, super cool!

Thanks folks! I am rather proud of it to be honest. Pretty damn fun fanging it round the quiet streets of little ol' Hobart too... certainly turns a few heads!

Thanks folks. Yep, quite a few kicking around in the US, but not too many in Australia, let alone Tasmania (and postage from the US on them is a bit stupid)! But luckily I've found a set up in Queensland that look to have a good #1 body I can salvage and are winging their way to me as we type!

Haha! Nah, I rebuilt the carbs a while ago but obviously it was cracked and I missed it. Started to screw in a new main jet and it cracked right through.

    Take 2: CB750K2 Steampunk(ish) Bobber Thing

Thanks folks, awfully kind of you! Not sure it'll be to everyone's tastes though... I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it anymore... But, final wiring is almost done... and we have lights (again)! Hopefully this week it's getting it all into the battery box and hooked up to the m-unit and...

Yeah, me too! I'm hoping I'll get the wiring finalised in the next week or so... then it's time to try and kick it over!

Yeah, unfortunately you can't 2K over Penetrol, so it's all a bit of a compromise. From what I've read Penetrol is about as good on bare metal as anything, so I'm hoping that'll do the heavy lifting, and the satin is for the finished effect and some protection. Given the timber and everything...

    Take 2: CB750K2 Steampunk(ish) Bobber Thing

Fer sure... It's actually pretty simple, just a bit time-consuming (on the frame especially because you've got to do it a section at a time): 1. Wire wheel all the steel to get a bit of a textured finish. 2. Acetone clean up. 3. Heat the steel with a MAPP torch, apply Mark Lees Express Brown #2...

Thanks folks, awfully decent of you, but if you want to hang up your tools, check these guys out: https://www.instagram.com/zillers_custom_garage/?hl=en ...or these... https://www.instagram.com/sosametalworks/?hl=en That's my inspiration for the next one... but anyway, probably should get this...

Nah, just long exposure. Brake and indicators might blind folks though... might need to dial those down a smidge...
