Hey Guys, Got a quick question, cause I'm a little bit lost. Recently had some timing issues and what not but they seem to be sorted, however now it seems when I sit in 5th gear and cruise at around 80kmph for an extended period of time, the bike starts to stutter and I lose acceleration...

No worries, always find it difficult getting aprts and what not. Especially, with being in Australia time differences are annoying!!!

When you say felt pad, you mean that little thing on the point plate that basically cleans the cam rotor? That was in a bit of a bad way so I turned it around to the clean side, what do you "wet" it with? Oil? Does this just clean and let everything run smoothly? I also, cleaned and gently...

Just some feedback here guys, problem was caused by me not correctly during the wiring in the headlight bucket, therefore draining the battery in about 10 minutes.... Rookie error?

Haven't cracked the motor or done any work inside. Will check points, valve clearances and timing tonight. What is the advancer? and where is it located?

OK so I'm still stuck. Kicked it till my leg almost fell of last night, with combinations fo throttle open and closed, choke on and off. I pulled the carb off and checked there were no blockages, the valves seem to be moving nicely. Not sure on the timing I suppose i should check that...

The whole ride would have been around a minute maybe 2 minutes at max. And as soon as it made the noise I noticed and then pulled over. The flange actually fell out where I had stopped for the light and I had to go back and pick it up. How would I compression test to check if it's alright? Jords.

Just thought I'd update everyone who was really helpful on this tread with the outcome. I adjusted the vales, timing and points with the help of you guys and also the workshop manual. Also gave the points a little clean while I was there. Also, re-adjusted the float level. Which all helped...
