    my 1980 GSX250

Oh yeah, the Roc city stuff is cool. I happened to check that gear out after my last post and now you guys mention it 8). I'd pay for that but being in OZ the exchange rate plus freight would make it considerably more expensive. At least if I fail in my manufcaturing skills I have a fall back...

    my 1980 GSX250

If you saw them, you wouldn't have thought so. they weren't really clipons in the true sense either, more like a riser bar that attached to the fork above the top clamp if you know what I mean? I'd rather pay similar if not more money for exactly what I want. Cant say it's a bad idea to try and...

    my 1980 GSX250

well...I'm somewhat annoyed now. I went to the dismantlers to see what I could see. found a set of clipons from what I think was an RD. they had 32mm fork tubes. the chap wanted $100 for them! I walked. must be a cheaper way out than that. As for the rearsets, I was having a look at an old...

    my 1980 GSX250

I considered what you said. I thought about that myself but looking at those sections of the frame from behind, it's all offset on the LH side for the chain etc and looks bad. I have started the removal but I have cut the brackets off in such a way that I can re-weld them back on if necessary...

    1981 Yamaha SR250 Cafe Racer

I'm seeing good things Lunar_C ! you're nearly there. Your bike on PSB is what lead me to here and is what lead me to my little project. It must be good to see something cool come out of not too much expense and a pretty ugly start point?

    my 1980 GSX250

G'Day All, Well here goes. I had this old Suzuki GSX250 end up with me. It was my brother in law's bike. He broke it, I got it to run, then parked it for several years in a lonely spot down the side of the house. I have been in need of a project that will keep me busy on quiet days at home. I...

    Introduce yrself, bikes, projects, whatever.

Hey guys, I'm from adelaide. Been riding bikes for a good 12 or 13 years now. started off on a Kwak Z250 LTD that dad used to ride to work and then got sick of and stuffed down the side of the shed. I dragged it out, got her going and cleaned it up. rode that for 6months and then decided I...

    G'Day from Oz

cheers chris. thought about the 400 motor. we'll see how we go with the frame and rearsets first. I plan to get the bike rolling without an engine and then pull it down again for paint and motor. probably stick with the 250 initially. I know they are underpowered but in this case that isn't the...

    G'Day from Oz

G'Day there, have stumbled across this site some weeks ago and have decided I should finally step up and say Hi. I'm new to Cafe Racer's and all they entail. My main ride is actually a 95 Fireblade that I have owned for a long time and have spent way too much time and money on to ever consider...
