I'll be watching. My 750 is running already and I ride to work all the time and around on free time. But it looks like an old mans bike. I'm not that old yet. My searching found your bike and now I'm hooked on how it will look as it goes along, and especially when it's finished.
I own an 82 XJ 750 I plan to cut on for Cafe purposes. The bike runs great, but I can't find big bore jugs or performance cams or anything. But if you open the exhaust and intake, and open up the jets I think you will find any Maxim can be a fun ride.
Just joined this website because of your project. I have an 82 Maxim 750 I have been thinking about doing. I have to say, your bike is the coolest looking cafe racer I have seen so far! I will probably steal your ideas!!
