CB750 project that needs assistance to finish. I'm outta ideas.

I just raised the rear of the tank to be on top of the rubber retainer and that 1/2 inch really made a nicer line to the rear. I don't know why I didn't see that before. Thanks for the tip there. Will update pics after work today.

CB750 project that needs assistance to finish. I'm outta ideas.

Welding a new tank doesn't scare me. The stock CB tank is perfect, no rust no dings... I won't cut into it. Hence the need for a donor tank. The width of the engine feels like a beefier tank at the front will visually flow better. It is a 71 CB K1 I believe if that matters as far as charging...

Regarding clearing out the electronics and battery... Is the mini saddle bag not so good looking?

No problems with the law and the plate mounting. The taillamp even illumiates it well at night so no additional lights are necessary to be legal. I recently used a roller to make a brass tag mount for the same position. will update with progress later on. I was going to find a larger/wider fuel...

CB750 project that needs assistance to finish. I'm outta ideas.

So off and on I have been working on my CB, its been about two years since I bought it and I feel as though there are some areas that should be tidied up. Pic of current state is attached below. I feel as though the rear is a bit too low and that the headlight is about too high. The fuel tank...

    It's a cafe to me, anyway! :-D

I had an XB9R back in 03 and at least that model did have a kick stand safety switch. I am sure you can defeat it as it should either be normally open or closed for operation. jumper the wires.

Re: CB750 oil system, smoking engine help plz Re: the oil system still, the head breather pipe connects to where? Also the top small fitting on the reverse side of the oil tank should connect to what also. It seems as though that the vapor coming from that pipe was my supposed smoking problem...

Re: CB750 cafe project FTW new pics No real progress, just been riding and sorting out things. I have one problem that I need help sorting, as follows. The bike has something like 23K on the clock. It gets a bit hot in town I fear as there is some smoke I guess coming off the engine, maybe we...

    KZ440 cafe build

great looking bike, it willl be interesting how it comes out. As I was reading I was getting my thoughts ready to suggest that you leave the tail open like you have, I was then pleasantly surprised that you did by page two . Good stuff. Best luck and I dig the bobber. Tony

Re: CB750 cafe project FTW new pics Also I think I am getting better with pinstriping. I added this to the cowl because one of the goals I had when I made it was to maintain the bare, polished aluminum look. However, it seemes a bit plain to me so I added some pinstriping in the same scallop...

Re: CB750 cafe project FTW new pics When I started cutting and chopping, My goal was to keep the clean look of the reassembly pics and not have any exhaust bits up around the side of the swingarm. I really dug that open look. The exhaust is somewhat of a work in progress. It Is not soooo loud...

I want to see you custom exhaust setups

I built this over the last 3 days of evenings. It started as an aftermarket chopper style 4-2-2 drag pipes with turnouts. I may still build a short can off to the side but as is it sounds good and keeps the back of the bike clean.

Re: CB750 cafe project FTW new pics The baffles on the end are just attempts of minimal silencing. I may go through and add some internal baffles to the collector and avoid the silencer can. Alternately a short 3 inch dia. section may come up a little bit to the side. The details of the header...

Re: CB750 cafe project FTW new pics Finished making the 4-1. My goal was to keep the open look of the mockup I did when I first painted the tank 'cause once I put the pipes on the side it kinda ruined the open flow.. anyways whadya think?

Re: CB750 cafe project FTW new pics Wow, I dropped off for a bit and I sunk all the way to page three. I told my mom about the thread so she could see how I am passing my time. BTW Happy Moms day Mom. I decided to take my exhaust off and start chopping metal until I had the makings off a 4-1...

Re: CB750 cafe project FTW new pics Heres how the rest of it looks. Not a whole lot of other stuff done. waiting to get an idea for the exhaust and nothing sounds good yet. I am thinking about cutting the pipes just after the swingarm pivot and angling up a bit but IDK. I liked the look...
