I will try giving them a call also. When I got my scooter insurance with All State, they were half of everyone else's price. Maybe I should just get a real project bike that I can work on for a while and insure it later down the road when it is running. Only problem is I dont want to lock up...

I just found out my insurance would be $1600 for a 1978 650cc. So I think I am going to put this dream on hold for now. Or maybe just buy one just to work on it for a while. What a deal killer...Any suggestions?

How is the handling on these older bikes? will it be as sharp as a scooter? or closer to a cruiser?

This is my first yr of riding. I am paying $600 on my 125cc scooter. I am taking my riders course in a few weeks. I hope to to pay something around the same amount. Is it possible to transfer the policy to a new bike?

I was hoping to trade in the Vino for another bike, but sounds like they not all that reliable (understandably so). Are there any from that era that are a bit more reliable? I want something that is the equivalent of a Civic Si. Cheap, could be relatively fast and will run forever...

Also, how reliable are these older japanese bikes, say 70s and 80s. I will I be constantly repairing them or will it run relatively well?

I "think" I am looking for a CB, RD or something in that area, a japanese bike. I could probably sell my 2008 Vino with 1,100km for $3,000 (maybe it is hopefully thinking). But I hoping to be able to find something in that same range. Something that is more highway capable. Any ideas?
