Thinking of selling off my project - advice?

Bicycle. I am racing this year for the UCSB road cycling team, gotta get those miles in! Anyways, I think I might play around with the bike, get it at least halfway presentable, and go from there. Hope this post didn't seem too spam-ish, I just don't know what the best avenue is for parting...

Thinking of selling off my project - advice?

Hey guys, first of all, this site has provided a ton of inspiration and help along the way, and has really helped me with my KZ650 project even though I'm really more of a lurker. These days, I'm so damn busy with school/work/training for bike racing that I don't really have time to work on my...

Cage from Blood, Sweat and Tears

No air-cooled, no care. ;D JK even though I like the older 911s, yours looks killer! I'm sure if I drove a newer one I wouldn't complain too much about it either...

Your human powered two wheeled rides

I just bought an old Litespeed road frame I am going to build w/ Nitto swept-back Albatross bars, bar-end shifters, some strong wheels, and a Paul front rack - can't wait! I'll have to post it up when it gets built.

Might as well get some info while I'm stuck at school...

Got that book, along with a Haynes 'motorcycle basics' book too. I'm the kind of learner where I need to have a grasp of a general overview before I can start putting the specifics together, so hopefully these dumbed-down manuals will help me pick this stuff up! Getting really excited to keep...

    Your Two Wheel Guilty Pleasure...

Old enduros. Like Honda SL 175, that kind of thing. OP I love that bike too, not sure why though!

Is this the one you were thinking of? [http://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Electrical-Manual-Haynes-Manuals/dp/1859604714] Only 1 1-star review, but the breadth seems like a good aspect. Seems like a nice simple solution...although I'd love to be able to make a really elegant one like this myself!

Might as well get some info while I'm stuck at school...

So I'm pretty slammed with class this quarter and haven't been able to make much progress on my KZ650 cafe build. Since I'm jonseing to ride it ASAP, I figured I'd ask some questions in the meantime! Some things I have to figure out: -Starter removal. Going kick start only, and I'm wondering...

Your human powered two wheeled rides

Mountain bikes are 135mm hub spacing (if it's really old it might be 130mm, IIRC they were narrower pre-7 speed era). Track frames use 120mm spacing. You can get 130mm fixed hubs I believe, which would make your job easier. Mountain bikes use a 26" wheel vs. the 700c wheel of a road bike. 700c...

new pics!!!!! KZ650: what the hell is it going to be?!?

Re: KZ650 that is begging for some treatment!!! I'm really looking forward to seeing what you're able to do w/ this bike! I've got a cafe KZ650B I'm almost done with, along with a basket case (basically frame, engine, and wheels) that I would like to eventually build as well. Looking good so far!

One more quick ? for the bicycle folks...

Yep, you have to use a long socket extension to tighten the nut to keep the wheel/peg secure. Sometimes pegs have anti-spin devices (basically a little allen bolt that goes into the backside) to prevent them from spinning in the dropouts of either the frame or the fork while grinding.

    So-Cal riders

Sounds like a plan then, more motivation to finish my frikken bikes! Although I won't be able to join you in the bars, not unless I tamper with my ID a bit at least. I'd love to have a vintage thing going on in SB, seems like a good spot for it to happen!

    So-Cal riders

I'm also in SB, currently at UCSB. All my projects are in Ojai but once I get a bike finished I'd be down to ride sometime!

    The Fastest Youve ever gone...

Passenger: 150 in a Carrera (somewhere in the desert) Driving: 110 in a GTI MKV (broad daylight passing someone on a two lane, that was dumb) Riding: 110 on a ZRX-1200 (broad daylight passing someone on a two lane, that was dumb)

    Batteries for Idiots

I had someone else look at the battery to check it out - said it was run with too little acid for too long and basically was messed up, I guess the plating will separate or something like that, so a new battery was in order. However, thanks for the tips! I'm definitely learning a lot along the...
