    Assembly lube on gaskets

Ahoy.. I'm doing a top end rebuild on my trusty '69 CB350 after I stripped one of the spark plug holes (repaired with time-serts).. After spending countless hours carefully scraping off old gaskets, my question is, is it dumb to put assembly lube on gaskets when re-assembling. Smart idea or...

CB350: what on earth is this item. "Thick plastic washer with metal band"

Hi y'all. I'm currently disassembling my engine to remove it, rip off the top end and to retap a cross-threaded spark plug thread (yes I know, stupid, but I've learned a good lesson) I'm fairly familiar with the bike, having taken it apart before (but a few years ago)... However, when I was...

CB350 no spark on one side

If you can get a multimeter, check your battery. As the other poster said, if it's dead or fluids low, no amount of charging will help. What your experienced, plus a low battery has caught me out countless times.

1969 CB350. Only getting spark when cap is partially in... weird!

xb33bsa: Believe me... I've given my fair share of offerings and off colour incantations... 1969Honda: I will certainly take a closer look at this, and see if this could be the case. Not sure how but I'll look closer or try to eliminate this variable. BarnBurner: Yeah.. I've always removed...

    Adding a USB to a 1069 CB350

Hi all. I'm sitting here with the black and white clymers manual staring at the electrical page. I've got a fused USB port that works well when connected directly to my battery, but I'd like to connect this to my ignition to prevent any discharging (still haven't found the final word on if a...

    Mikuni VM30 on a 69' CB350 starting point advice.

Seeking advice... Hi all. I have a lovely 1969 CB350 that I rebuilt and have ridden almost daily for the past five years. However, I've been having carb issues with the stock Keihins so dropped down for a Mikuni VM30 kit. I spent many hours trying to get them working as they came fitted, but...

    In-Line Fuel Filter Placement ('69 CB350)

Hi all. I searched around and haven't not found a difinitive answer on this one. Would really appreciate any tips. THE SIMPLE QUESTION: Does it matter where on the fuel line you place an in-line fuel filter. Should it, for example, be below the level of the float bowls, or lower point, or...

74 Honda CB200/Runing on only one cylinder.

I've had similar strange things like this happen to my bike (69 Cb350) even after replacing wires, coils, points, etc. My right carb is the problem child. The bike will run great, then stalling will become frequent, then the right carb would refuse to fire up. Each time, I forget to check the...

1982 CB750 Barely Starting After Carb Clean

I had some carb issue recently too, it's a 350 twin, so different. However, one recommendation was to sync the carbs, and I believe all the carbs on the 750 are physically linked, so you can easily bench sync. (YouTube has step by step tutorials)

1969 CB350 troubleshooting help. Carbs? Valves?

Sonrier. Just a heads up after a lot of carb cleaning, adjusting air mix and idle screw, I now have both cylinders running at idle! Not fully tuned, need to do a bit more research. I think the engines are running too hot. In your opinion, is that an too tight or too loose air mixture setting...

CV carbs. Butterfly valves (which I called "flaps" in my previous email).

1969 CB350 troubleshooting help. Carbs? Valves?

Vacuum gauges on order. Pulled the carbs out again, and indeed, the right side "flap" that leads to the engine, not the air filter side, is fully shut, and the left has a slight gap. The idle screw on the right carb does indeed create a gap in the "flap", but not enough as the screw isn't long...

1969 CB350 troubleshooting help. Carbs? Valves?

So my education of bench "syncing" started just after you replied with some googling and youtubing. What I'm seeing however leads me to believe that bench syncing only works are "connected". On my bike, the throttle cable splits into two, so I'm thinking this won't work. Am I wrong? Does this...
