    '76 XS750 Triple

Alright, so I made a little progress. Seat is a failure. My styrofoam mold wasn't good enough, when I started sanding bondo and glass I got back down to foam in some spots. I am just going to buy one from roc city. I am playing around with exhaust options. I am just holding the pipes and trying...

    XS750 Rearsets?

Good looking bike. I am doing the same on a '76, looks almost identical except the color scheme on the tank is reversed. I would love to see some pics of the finished seat. I just scrapped a home made seat I have been slowly working on for months. As for the rearsets I was thinking of these...

    '76 XS750 Triple

I hear ya. That is a pretty big knot. How far back would you run the pipe? Is this the type of muffler you're talking about? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chrome-Motorcycle-Muffler-Shorty-universal_W0QQitemZ150421559505QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2305d2d8d1 How...

    '76 XS750 Triple

You may want to ditch that factory 3-1...it's a killer. You lose enough clearance on that side that you can easily highside from augering that pipe. Been there...... Do you mean I should get an all new exhaust? Would you split and do a 2-1, 1-1? Sorry, but I am new to this, I am not quite sure...

    '76 XS750 Triple

Wow, thanks. I did get this bike because I love the Triumph's but am on a Japanese budget. Are you running clubman's and rearsets. I am putting on clubmans and wanted to go with rearsets mounted to the rear footpeg holes but am not sure if this is the way to go. I would love to hear what another...

    '76 XS750 Triple

Question, I need to cut off about 4" from the end of the frame. Just where the turn signal mounts are. I was going to remove the gas tank first, but is there anything else I need to take off for safety? Carbs?

    Mounting Plates

Yeah, my dumbass was just looking at one pedal. Any suggestions? I could go a couple hundred if I know they won't need to much too fit. I have seen some on ebay for a little over a hundred or a set at TC choppers that don't have mounting plates but say they would need some. Still not a hundred...

    Yamaha XS750 Bettie Page tribute

I am doing a 750 conversion as well. I am trying to work out a rearset solution now. I am also pretty inexperienced so I will be relying on others here. If I get any good insight I will post in my thread. Good Luck. -Brian

    Mounting Plates

If I am going to use the rear foot peg placement do I need any other mounting plates. All of the rearsets I have found have mounting plates. Can I order them, drop the plates and mount directly to the frame where the foot pegs were. Am I missing something? I have a 1976 xs750 and am looking at...

    '76 XS750 Triple

I bought a donor for my '76 Triple and it was in good enough shape that I decided to make it a cafe racer instead. I soon realize 2 bikes to work on was 1 too many for me right now. However, I got so into the idea of a cafe racer I decided to cafe out my daily rider and make the donor a donor...

    Tank repair using fiberglass question.

Thanks a lot everyone. I have looked on ebay and found some reasonably priced replacement tanks. I think you guys are right. By the time I invest money in the coating and repair, I am half way to a tank that needs neither. I think I'll just use this one to work out my paint.

    Tank repair using fiberglass question.

Thanks a lot, I will try that. I assume coating the inside with por15 or a like product before the test would help as well?

    Tank repair using fiberglass question.

It was riddled with tiny pinholes. I was afraid if I soldered it, I would miss something. I thought covering the entire tank with fiberglass would be the safest bet. I saw it done in an online video, where the guy actually said fiberglass adhered really well to metal. I have no idea who this...

    Tank repair using fiberglass question.

My tank has pinholes in it at the bottom which I am repairing by covering in a thin coat of fiberglass with chop mat. I have been warned against fiberglass tank repair because of the possibility of cracking and fuel leakage in an accident. I figured since these are only pinholes and I am not...

    Mirrors

Thanks man. That makes sense. I assumed there was a reason since I haven't seen many/any bikes with clubmans and standard position mirrors. I guess I will have to get used to the bar ends. I like living more than looking good. I have a bunch of pics of my project and am about to try your...

    Mirrors

I need some mirrors for my cafe project. I am using clubman bars but don't really like the look of the bar end mirrors. Are there any other options? While I don't like the look of the bar-ends I do like living so I may go with them if that is my only option. I haven't really seen any clubmans...

"RATTLE CAN" BLING! ...everything is here!

Twisted recommends putting a wet coat of clear on with the last wet coat of color to create a better bond. Do you disagree or do you mean after that to let it fully dry? Would you bake it between color and clear? Twisted, your input would be appreciated as well. Thanks guys

"RATTLE CAN" BLING! ...everything is here!

Re: "RATTLE CAN" BLING!.....no more bomb! Hi Twisted, Another quick question. I have only found the color I am looking for in Satin finish, Rustolium Painters touch. Can I use this and then use a better quality gloss clear to achieve a gloss finish? Maybe Extra coats of clear? Thanks Brian
