3D printing upgraded air filter/cover for the CB350

I have a prusa i3 MK3, so the print capacity is just a hair bigger than what you stated. When recreating the measurements of the stock panel, I found out the hard way that the print area wasn't big enough. So I had to redo it by reducing the dimensions a bit.

3D printing upgraded air filter/cover for the CB350

Thanks all I had mine for about 1.5 years. I've had this project in mind (and many others!) but am happy to be able to finally do it again. Eventually I'll start making molds to re-pop pieces out in carbon fiber. But that's probably a long ways off too.

3D printing upgraded air filter/cover for the CB350

I've wanted to do this for a while, and now that I'm laid off its the perfect time. Learning some CAD software is good for me personally and for professional development too, so I decided to make the upgraded air filters for a stockish look. The goal is to provide more breathing for the engine...

'73 CB350G take II: The 3-4-5 - Designing and 3D printing stockish parts

So, I haven't been able to work on the bike as much as I wanted due to the whole social distancing thing (and my bike living across town at a friend's place). I also unfortunately got laid off from work too, but that means extra free time! As a way to progress my projects and also do some...

Re: '73 CB350G take II: resto-mod - The 3-4-5 - Might actually be running soon... Lots of progress today! Had to wait on a few bits and bobs to arrive so I could keep progressing with good parts. Today's hurdle was tackling the fenders, getting the new center stand on and a few other items...

    CL350 Project

Not a problem. The clymer manual is pretty helpful and has all of the factory specs. Also, if you search around here or other forums there's almost assuredly a link to a PDF of the Honda service manual. This forum and hondatwins are a great resource for these bikes. Make sure you have the...

    CL350 Project

Your best bet is to get a service manual (whether bought or downloaded) then focus on getting 1-2 running. After that, get them running well. Once you have a living breathing bike, decide what needs to be fixed/repaired/replaced. As many others on this site will agree, tearing into a pile of...

'73 CB350G take II: The 3-4-5 - Designing and 3D printing stockish parts

Re: '73 CB350G take II: resto-mod - The 3-4-5 - Might actually be running soon... Slowly but surely. Getting ready for paint job 2.0. The gas tank and associated bits will be a seafoamish green color. Prep is key (and takes forever). Also sent out the rest of the bits off to get powdercoated to...

Re: '73 CB350G take II: resto-mod - The 3-4-5 - Might actually be running soon.. Incremental progress as always. I added some new stainless bolts, fitted the new air filters and did a few other tiny things that really add up. I also trimmed the sprocket cover so I can actually take it off when...

Re: '73 CB350G take II: resto-mod - The 3-4-5 Now it is a roller! I can't even remember the last time I was able to sit in the seat on the bike! Unfortunately I left the keys at home. So after snapping the seat in place I couldn't even add the tank. Still very happy with the progress...

'73 CB350G take II: The 3-4-5 - Designing and 3D printing stockish parts

Re: '73 CB350G take II: resto-mod - The 3-4-5 Now it is a roller! Went to go do some more work last week and came to the realization that a lot of the rubber bits have been either lost or are too dry rotted to trust. So I gathered a bunch of part numbers and placed some orders. And I also...

    83 Yamaha TR1 cafe build

Really nice work, and what a great idea to use those connectors! It looks like they'll take a lot of stress out of wiring, can't wait to use them to wire mine this summer.

'73 CB350G take II: The 3-4-5 - Designing and 3D printing stockish parts

Re: '73 CB350G take II: resto-mod - The 3-4-5 finally an update. I FINALLY got the bearing/bearing retainer in. When I initially took the retainer out the threads became pretty knackered. I tried to clean them up initially, but when i tried to assemble with the new retainer it became completely...

Re: '73 CB350G take II: resto-mod - The 3-4-5 So I managed to move from PA to Boston in March '18 and the bike project had to be put on hold. Luckily I got the bike out of my storage unit and am putting it back together at a friend's place. I managed to find my [overpriced] NOS cush drive...
