Honda CB 360 - Keiryō Café Racer Project

Wow, getting to the good chassis stuff now!!! I can't wait to see what you have planned for the rear sets. I'm not sure of my plans with mine yet other than mounting them at the old passenger mounts. The shifter linkage should be simple enough but I don't know about the brake side yet.

Which dirt track style tires? Do you have any experience with them?

Honda CB 360 - Keiryō Café Racer Project

Those clipons are the same ones I'm using. I don't have carbon bars but man those look trick!! What exactly happened to your stem seals? I usually hold the valve in the head or just set the head down so they don't fall out, put a very light amount of pro circuit seal grease on the valve stem...

Be cautious of getting it on clothing and then brushing your arms or any uncovered skin through it... It stings pretty good.

    1971 Honda SL350 racer!

The more I look at it with the big fat dirt tires on it, the more it makes me wanna run big wide tires like that rather than the 90/90 18 front (after the 18" front wheel install) and 110/90 18 rear. I'll have to check what sizes are on it now (4" rear I think and maybe a 3.50" 19 on the front)...

Will only start and run with choke on

Yeah, it kinda looks like a Mikuni CV carb...

Will only start and run with choke on

Oh and the bike should run ok without filters on it if those carbs are not CV carbs (throttle cable runs right to the slides). It will be a little leaner than with filters on, may not take throttle as well but you could get the bike running. Don't let it suck anything up though or it's game...

Will only start and run with choke on

We all want to know what size carbs these are. Your 175 will likely never run right on stock internals with carbs as big as the other guy said a few posts back. If you've been running shit gas through them that could be a big part too. With the carbs off, get a can of carb clean with a straw...

Will only start and run with choke on

What carbs do you have on it? If it only runs with the choke on that means it's running extremely lean (not enough fuel). If the carbs you installed are known to work with that motor with the jetting that's in them than you may just need to clean the carbs.

    1971 Honda SL350 racer!

Here's a mock up of the tank and I got my clip on's mounted too. Unfortunately I found the top triple clamp had a crack on the left side under the speedo mount and I didn't see it before... The motor looks pretty good after a thorough cleaning and minor polishing!

    1971 Honda SL350 racer!

I haven't updated in a while, it's been a rough winter and I've been too broke to fund the project. As of now the motor is on my bench and I'm polishing it up, it's starting to look pretty nice! The frame will get sanded down and painted soon, I got 33mm clip-ons in the mail and I have a line...

    1971 Honda SL350 racer!

Ok, finally starting a thread for my build. I picked up a 1971 Honda SL350 (well, most of one) a month or so back and it will be my winter project to get it ride-able for next season and maybe even some vintage road racing if things pan out right. The bike came for 140 bucks with a motor...

Looking for a 1970-80 Honda complete front end from a CB/CJ/CL or something...

Hey guys, I want a complete Honda front end for my SL350 build. I'm interested in forks, triples (upper and lower), 18" (HAS TO BE 18"!!! I don't need a tire though) front wheel, brakes, axle, etc. If I can get it all in one assembly that would be great! I'm ok with piecing it together a bit...

    Hey guys, new here.

Well, I haven't had a chance to work on the bike yet other than running the carbs through the carb-dunk tank to get the varnish out and I ripped the seat apart to see if the seat pan will be useable. Seat pan is a maybe... The guy I ordered the kickstarter from Ebay poorly packaged it and it...

    Hey guys, new here.

Cool, that one looks a hell of a lot better than mine! I have a lot of work ahead of me! I have a kickstarter coming from Ebay, so hopefully when it gets here I can get some wiring figured out, get an ignition switch and killswitch set up and see if i can get spark. The only reason I know...
