    CBR600F2 project

last feb i said something about hoping it wouldnt be 2013 until i made some more progress on my f2. well, it almost was. The bike spent most of 2012 in my garage, nothing more than something i had to step around to get to my fishing stuff. in december i decided i was tired of looking at it. i...

    CBR600F2 project

"Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 30 days." Thirty??? Times that by ten and you are starting to get close! =) So yes, my F2 has spent most of the past year sitting in my garage collecting dust. Blah blah blah. But....... I blew off the dust, cleaned out the carbs...

1971 Honda CL450 project... Here we go..

did you get them out? there are easier ways than using glue and a screwdriver...... try an impact driver, if there is anything at all left of the head. usually works. if not, drill a hole and use a screw extractor. i use small torx bits that I grind a taper to. hammer one in and turn it with a...

    CBR600F2 project

a little more progress here and there. I sold my CX500 and bought an XL600R for use as a daily rider, and lately I've been working on that. still, a few things happening on the F2... chain and sprockets on. rearsets drilled, cleaned up, and mounted. tank primed. At the moment I am in the...

    Yamaha FRZ400RR Exup streetfighter almost 100% !!

Re: Yamaha FRZ400RR Exup streetfighter project. looking good! how does the fit work with the top of the front forks? do they stop flush with the top of the triple clamp, or will you need to grind the base of the mount? what are you planning on doing to the back end?

    Help Moving Battery+Electronics

When I relocated the battery to the tail of my CBR600F2 I used some heavy gauge wire that comes with crimped terminal connectors at each end. They worked great. I remember they came in 36" and 48" lengths, but probably others too. I got them at Advance Auto.

    CL160 project

After not doing much for quite a few months, I recently started back up on this project and got some parts ordered. Already here are a new set of rings, clips, gaskets, cam chain master-link, and spark plugs. I have a set of wrist pins on the way, and hopefully will have the motor back...

CB350 Swing Arm Collars are worn...

have you checked bikebandit.com?? they have a lot of older OEM parts. I have had good luck going to them for older Honda stuff. They have exploded view diagrams and part numbers so you can figure out exactly what you need. Otherwise I would check ebay.

    rewire ignition lock

on the wiring diagram it is just a switch. but there may be something to the resistor idea. I have had the bike running, but now I have no spark after putting a toggle switch in line with the power and ignition wires. It may be something simple like a sidestand switch, since I took the bike down...

    rewire ignition lock

thanks guys. that is a good idea about finding a 3-position switch from an older bike. I'll check on e-bay. The type I was thinking of using has 2-wires and was not specific for a bike. maybe it isn't such a bad idea to keep the parking light function. and regarding the electrical connections...

    rewire ignition lock

does anyone have examples of how they re-wired an ignition to a simple on/off keyswitch? I have a 1992 CBR600F2 that Im working on, and I want to move the ignition lock from the stock location. I have seen simple keyed electric on/off switches. I want to lose the bulk of the stock unit with...

    CBR600F2 project

wiring harness is installed, battery re-located to tail, grips and control cables installed, electrical components temp mounted. I mocked up the tail light to start working on design for a seat/tail unit. Also started on the "lightening" holes on the rearsets.

    CBR600F2 project

more progress. wiring harness secured, airbox installed, K&N filter cleaned, oiled, and installed. compared to the older bikes I've worked on the airbox seems MASSIVE. but I guess with the RPM these motors turn they need all the air they can get. new chain and sprockets too, ready to install...

hi there ,im new here my cx 500 streetfighter

wow that is awesome. I love the shifter linkage setup. that is a NICE front end too. I have a CX500 that I ride every day, but it is mostly stock and the front suspension and brakes are one of the weakest links on the bike. I cant wait to hear how it handles with a modern package like that...

    CBR600F2 project

yeah, when I had the motor out I considered it, but decided to paint only the clutch and stator covers, and leave the rest of the motor "natural". I know what you mean --- I've seen bikes with black engine paint and it can look really good, but I like the way the metal looks on this one.

    CBR600F2 project

the F2 project is still coming along. I took some breaks this summer, but worked on it here and there. it gets hot here in FL so the garage is an OVEN. now that the weather is finally getting nice, I have been motivated to make some more progress. Since the last update: - new oil and filter...

    •• 1980 Honda CX500 Fighter Project ••

the CX500 triple bypass. if you plan on keeping the bike for a while then now is the time to do those jobs. I havent had the motor out of mine yet, but eventually when I do, it will get the same treatment. You could put a new thermostat in too. You dont need the motor out to it, but might...

    •• 1980 Honda CX500 Fighter Project ••

there are not many forks that will slide right into the stock CX500 triples. A front end swap would include new steering head bearings, and a complete front end, with triples, wheel/brakes, everything.
