    CM400 Re-Re-rebuild.

Ok so thinking about the brake switch thing. What about a micro-switch next to your brake stop. That way you can use them same bracket, it would be easily concealed, and will make or break contact anytime the arm moves away from your stop. Just a thought. lol.

Looking great! I know your getting excited. I'll get up with you on bringing that tire I have to you or something. Actually the chain being tight can help with the alignment check. See how the sprockets teeth line up in between the links. With it so tight the chain doesn't have in side to side...

I recognize this bike. LOL. Your shop looks like mine when I get "involved" in a project. Cant wait to see what she has you talked into and help where I can. Looking forward to the VJMC event and hoping to have mine going by then. Following along as you work out the details.

So let me catch you guys up on the goings on here with the bike. Its a long work in progress as you all know...

Got a couple new things to update on here. I received an email from ARP today. They have a couple options that they are going to send me to see about how well the specs will match up for usability. They are also looking at doing custom manufacturing for the hardware they don't stock. The...

I appreciate the information. I thought about going the old use this from that route but decided I wanted to do a really custom one off build. Yeah custom parts are probably not the most inexpensive route by far but I wanted it designed from the ground up as a race motor. I could probably stick...

Well I haven't ordered them yet but I did go out and get my deck height measured. Measured the pistons, and came to the same conclusion. There is only a very minimal amount of room, as you pointed out, to increase the rod length. Obviously I could do a block spacer and increase my deck height...

When I am wrong I am wrong. I offer my sincerest apologies to you. I would love to know how the forgining process is done to result in that. Thank you for clarifying this for me. I did find it odd that the factory manual refered to the cranks and rods as forgings but the rods "appeared" to be...

Nebr_Rex, To a degree your right in your thinking. Forged and Forged billet are different. A forged billet is a block of material that is formed under pressure to create the forged billet plate. The Plate is then machined into a connecting rod, piston, or whatever is being designed. A Forged rod...

Well today has been measurement day. Started doing all the hardware measurements to send off to ARP for some custom hardware. Looking at new super duty head studs, main studs, case studs. In doing this I was going to get a set of connecting rod bolts to upgrade on the factory rods then I had a...

Nebr_Rex, Cost was $580 total. That is with shipping and work performed on rockers and cam. It cost $320 with shipping for the cam work and they restored all 4 rockers for $260 with shipping. Considering no one makes an after market cam for these bikes and the rockers are obsolete I am...

Re: 1982 KZ440 ltd Cafe drop frame gone So while the above was curing it was time to work some more on getting the frame smoothed out. I still had a lot of the cut off tabs on the bike and really needed to get motivated on getting the frame prepared for powder coating. I still have some work to...
