on my 75 RD350 have what appears to be schrader valves (like on a bicycle tube) on the very tops of the fork caps? I haven't seen mention of them in any schematics or my manual.

How important are dust boots? I'm putting new seals on my RD's forks, but it's missing one dust boot. They are a tad pricey, so I'm wondering if it is a mistake to just run without them?
