    Japan Meets Britain...

A chilly shakedown ride yesterday! Only managed 24 miles before my fingers froze solid, but it was enough to test the bike AND a new helmet (yes I'm a slave to helmet fashion). This was the first ride of the season (odometer reading 06014 - for my own reference!), and the bike fired right up...

Did you ever have any dealings with Rick Sutcliffe / Raceline Cycle in Scarborough, or Light Brigade up in Newmarket?

    Ontario Honda...

I never did have the good fortune to meet Rick Andrews (though I did read his tech column in Cycle Canada), but I met Steve Wilcox (aka Shox Johnson) when he used to perform with the Jive Bombers at the Chick'n'Deli on Mt. Pleasant. Steve was a mechanic there at one point, and Ontario Honda...

    Ontario Honda...

Thought this would be a good place to post this, as I've had it for more than 25 years and I still use it with my bike: Ontario Honda Fob by Vince.Lupo, on Flickr Sad that it's no longer around.

Had a rare chance to take the bike out on a business call, and snapped this shot in the backyard while the weather was still nice: Fall SuperHawk by Vince.Lupo, on Flickr And for you vintage Toronto kids, here's a blast from the past....I feel very fortunate to have it! Ontario Honda Fob by...

    Japan Meets Britain...

A beautiful fall Sunday and a great opportunity for a ride. I was only going to go out for a couple of hours, but it turned into a 160 mile tour! My wife and I had done this drive a couple of weeks ago out to a place called Whites Ferry (on the Maryland side of the Potomac River) and then...

    Japan Meets Britain...

7am?! Who's idea was it to meet at 7am this chilly Sunday? Oh yeah, I guess it was mine.....oops. As you can see from my handlebar Ingersoll, it's just before 7:00 at Scott's house (and the sun's not even out yet!). Honey-do's had been taken care of the day before, so I was able to hit the...

    Japan Meets Britain...

Haven't done an update on this thread in quite a while. The bike has been running great, and just had a recent modification done on the bike: photo by Cappellini.it Took the plunge and got rid of the centrifugal oil filter setup and went with a Cappellini oil filter conversion kit. Should...

    Nostalgia Run 2014, Thurmont MD.....

That would be my bike. The only mechanical pocket watch I've found that can consistently put up with all the rigors of being mounted on the handlebars is the Ingersoll Triumph (this particular example dates from 1960, and I've had it on the bike for over two years). I've tried nice 'Railroad'...

    Upholsterer in NOVA/DC/MD

A bit late to the dance on this one, but for those who are looking to this thread as a resource, here is another good upholsterer: http://www.joesupholstery.com/ They work exclusively on classic cars, but they also do motorcycle seats. I've had them do work on my SuperHawk as well as my...

    Nostalgia Run 2014, Thurmont MD.....

A glorious day for the Nostalgia Ride in Thurmont, MD yesterday. Clear blue skies and temps in the mid-70s. I'd say about 150-200 bikes showed up and participated, and as usual a wide variety was in attendance. Riders could choose between a 60 or a 90-mile route, as well as a ride for 'dual...

    Japan Meets Britain...

Dusted off the cobwebs yesterday and went for an hour's ride. It wasn't too chilly out (about 50F/10C), but I didn't feel like going too far. Bike ran great, and I'm looking forward to the warmer weather! January SuperHawk by Vince.Lupo, on Flickr

    anyone in the photography club?

My wife and I just got back from Montana and Wyoming, and we had the opportunity to drive the Beartooth Highway. This highway figured prominently in Robert Pirsig's motorcycle adventure back in 1968. This is a glimpse of what he likely experienced: Beartooth Pano3 by Vince.Lupo, on Flickr...

    Japan Meets Britain...

Went for a VERY CHILLY shakedown ride today. The mercury only managed to make it to 36 degrees today, and I was only able to tolerate an hour's ride. Overall the bike ran great -- a variety of things were done this time around, including the new Rick's Electric stator and voltage regulator...
