Hello,
I apologize if this seems so frickin' simple and obvious but i swear I have tried everything. I have a 74 cl360. I'm trying to figure out how the heck to put the return spring on the break pedal. If anyone could take a pic of theirs for reference or draw a pic please let me know. Seems...
Hey Guys,
I've always gotten amazing tips and advice on here, just want to preface this with: These are probably really dumb questions for most of you. I am almost finished with my first ever complete tear down project on this 1974 CL360. Labeled a ton of parts but you know there's always...
Anyone have the part number for these? Lost them when i moved into the new house. Total pain in the ass, and they're not cheap enough on ebay to guess.
Hello!
Haven't been on here in a minute. Took some time off from the CL360 project but i'm back! I'm beginning to rebuild everything and i'm guessing i'm going to have a bunch of questions. Here's my first.
Went to tighten the back wheel last night. Seems as if the hole that the bolt goes...
Hey Guys,
I come bearing advice once again.
I'm putting a new clutch cable on the 1974 CL360. I have the Clymer manual and after doing it's step i can't get the clutch to engage. So I guess I'll tell you what I'm doing first and hopefully someone sees what i'm doing wrong.
I should also...
So I know I'm going to have to either redo the carbs or have someone rebuild them. I posted a photo below. The one carb was full of this white residue and when I took the engine apart I saw the previous owner actually forgot to fasten that carb to the engine (no not kidding it was just dangling...
Ok...I have a feeling ill laugh at myself for asking this later but...I bought a 2.5 inch mini tach from drag specialities for my 74 cl360 and I went to install it...only to find no where to put the tach cable into it? Did my local shop order the wrong one?
Hey Guys,
Got my bolt kit from Dime City for my 1974 CL360. I got some threebond. Put a thin layer on and sealed her up. I started putting the bolts on and the first bolt and second bolt have a gap in between the bolt head and the washer (see pic). all of the other bolts went on real smooth...
Alright...before I can put the 1974 CL360 back together I need to replace the steering stem bearings. After much force the races are out and the frame is ready to go. I was going to take it to a shop and just have them do it but the shop in town quoted me $320 (4 hours of labor at $80 an hour)...
Hey,
Just about to get everything back together on the 1974 CL360 project. One part i do need is a new oil drain plug. I could've swore that Dime City carried it for the CL360 but it doesn't appear to be on the site. Does anyone know what size that drain plug is and where i could get one?
I...
So I'm putting the engine back together on my cl360. I bought a brand new complete engine gasket kit. However I have a question...I don't have a gasket in my kit for the last piece of the top end. See pic below. And there wasn't a gasket in there when I pulled it off. Rather there was a gummy...
Hey,
I have a couple covers on the CL360 project that need to be stripped and either buffed out or repainted. I won't be repainting the whole engine however any covers that look like garbage (see the one in the picture below) i'm going to strip and either buff out or repaint.
Anyone have any...
I'm about to take my frame in to be sandblasting and powder coated. Everything is taken off, swing arm and all bolts and gaskets. However there are two small gasket looking things that i just cant get out. Will these be ruined by sand blasting? I'm guessing it can't be good baking them with the...
So i've done a pretty good job labeling the crap out of every part that's come off my CL360 i'm restoring. However a couple parts slipped through the cracks. Anyone know what these belong to?
A-
B- (2 pics, and it's not the gas cap seal)
C- (pretty sure i had this labeled, took it out of...
Hey Friends!
Finally got around to uploading some photos. Just selected a handful of shots from the last month or so. The bike will be done in a semi classic scrambler style. Not chopping anything or making anything too cafe like. The idea is a bike i'll be able to ride on road as well as take...
Anyone know the widest tire that will fit on a 1974 cl360 without stock fenders?
Looking at a 4.10 x 18 rear and 3.50 x 18 front.
Can't return the tires so just looking to see if anyone has gone that wide before.
Bike is a 1974 CL360 Took the side cover off last night and this fell out when i took it off. any ideas what it's for? (talking about the black plastic piece in my hand.
Hey Guys,
Looking for some specific advice... I have a screw that was stripped on the bike i just got (CL360) took the impact driver to it but that only made it worse. Thankfully this is the only screw on the engine that has given me trouble. I've read about screw removal on the site and...
Hey,
Just wanted to say hello. Just registered with the site. About to start restoring/rebuilding a 1974 cl360 up here in Portland Oregon. I also own a 1993 Harley Heritage Softail that i've added a photo of below.
I have my service manual coming from Dime City on Monday and look forward to...
