    1987 Honda VT500E Cafe Racer

Heads were skimmed, polished and ported. Sadly forgot to take some pics of full assembly. The funny thing, I left my friend with a cheap dremel and went away for a half day. When I came back I found him sitting there since the morning slowly scavenging the ports with the music. I was amazed of...

    1987 Honda VT500E Cafe Racer

Quick update. Sadly didn't captured lots of useful pictured during the engine top end rebuild but there are a few. In local bike yard managed to get another same engine for just a few pennys. In some reason, most of the parts for VT500 engines are obsolete or unbelievably expensive or need to...

    1987 Honda VT500E Cafe Racer

Yes the engine worried me for a while and few months back I decided to take a deeper look into it. During the first start I noticed small leaks through the cylinder gaskets and eventually got a set of new gaskets and decided to to a quick swap. However, quick repairs usually turns into complete...

    1987 Honda VT500E Cafe Racer

Modified bar end mirrors and fitted turn signal LED's into the mirror holders. As much as I hate having indicators, having them for daily use on UK roads is advisable.. So many roundabouts and insolent drivers.. Quite happy with them!

Its been a while I posted the progress here. Will roll back and will try to continue project story. All electrics are being hidden underneath the seat. There's not alot of space, especially with new snazzy and big battery but after few rearrangements things started to fit in.

    Ural 2WD project

Hello again! And sorry for a long reply! Didn't realised that the topic was brought up. Rear breaking set up was left original and just mounted brake disc on the other side with the caliper. Sadly with the lack of knowledge at the time I haven't made a proper bracket for caliper to float. Its a...

We will see how it goes :) Some more history of the previous built: The frame was ready quite quickly. However not with the best quality. Had to use bits and bobs I found lying around the shop floor. Resprayed engine and things went back on the frame. Bought Shadow 750 carbs because original...

    1987 Honda VT500E Cafe Racer

Hunted down some nice fuel tank and bmw rear seat base. And by the time it arrived I sorted out small bits and pieces, refurbished radiator, brakes, cleaned and polished few aluminium bits. Also visited local recovery scrap yard where found more useful bits for my project. Had to modify frame to...

    1987 Honda VT500E Cafe Racer

Also after hot steam engine cleaning I definitely had to drop it from half a metre high and smash one rocker cover... Well good thing was I could take a look how the engine looks like from inside lol. And cranked it over using crowbar mangled in the drive shaft. It spun freely, engine oil looked...
