Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find it on here or on google.
My friend told me he has heard of people pulling the photoshop color code from a picture and getting a paint code from it, but I can't find out how to do it. Does anyone know how? or if this is even true?
@Krafty
I have heard that tiger hair stuff was pretty awesome. How long have you had it on? Was the crease as deep as my dent was? Did you do any special prep work other than cleaning and roughing up the surface before you applied to something that deep? How thick were your layers? Sorry about...
Ok, It's kind of hard to tell in the pictures. But there is a dent in the front of my tank. Not even thinking I sealed the inside of my tank with Caswell tank sealer before I took care of the dent. I think popping it back out now would just ruin the tank seal. It seems like it would be too deep...
That is a pretty cool idea, definitely post that video when you're finished.
Exactly what I was thinking. Obviously I'll put performance before aesthetics, but why not both?
The frame actually steeps up just a little as well, but I could straighten it out. I like your idea better than mine. Seems like it'd look more clean that way. I'll definitely have to look into this as an option, thanks!
Ok, so it seems every picture I see of a modded bike, the seat sits directly on the frame. At 6'3" my knees would be touching my arms if I set my handlebars any lower (plus I don't wanna ride with my knees crunched up). I have a 1982 gs850g and can't stand the way the bulky seat looks. So I was...
I have a very small amount of sealer left on what is stuck to the sides of the cans. If I mix them together.. I might be able to rig something with a brush and "paint" over them. But it is far from fresh right now, It's been over 24 hrs.
One is just to the right of the gas level sensor. and the other is on the top/front of the hump. I'm adding an in-line fuel filter between my tank and carbs just to be safe, but two spots that are less than half an inch in diameter shouldn't affect fuel quality that much should it?
Well the shell has hardened and I removed the putty that was sealing my petcock. Looking into the tank with a mirror from the petcock I noticed that there were two very small spots that did not get covered. Is this going to be an issue?
Good things to hear. I added a little extra to the half, I hope I covered all the surfaces in that 30 minutes!. I can't see all my tank even with a mirror. Just waiting for it to dry a little more now before I un-putty the petcock. Also, I'm gonna be out of town for the next month, so should be...
Well thanks to that rubbing alcohol advice, I was able to get whatever mess was left over in my tank. So now I'm having an issue of amount. The paper says to use half quantities only and one half quantity covers up to 5 gallons. I have a 5.6 gallon. So I would think to use the full amount since...
Ok, so this is my first Bike I have worked on, so pardon if I ask what seem to be obvious questions.
At first my tank looked like this (see pic 1)
I have been trying to prep my tank to use Caswell Tank sealer on it. First I threw some hardware in the tank with acetone and shook it to high...
