So I was thinking about possibly swapping out the rear 16" wheel on my 78 CB400 tii with an 18" to have it match up to the front. I found out that some bikes (not sure which though) had an 18" rear Comstar on the rear.
Does anyone know from which bikes this swap is possible from?

I'm about to jump on redoing the rear end on my 78 Hawk II.. what would be a recommended thickness for the steel plate used for the new rear shock mounts?
I was told by the previous owner that my bike was a Hawk II so I out of curiosity I wanted to see what a Hawk I was and not only do they look the same but all the specs are dead on AND they were built for the same years. I thought the II might have been a successor model or something but it's...

Is anyone running a top triple clamp from a CB360 on their CB400? I have that stamped steel one on my 78 CB400 which I would like to replace with a nice aluminum one. I know some CB400s came with them as well but as far as I know, they have handle bar mounts molded in and I will be running clips...
So I want to finally tear into my bone stock CB400. I would like to start with re-doing the rear seat/shock mount section to accommodate for the cafe style seat while giving everything the look I want.
What would be a suitable tubing size (diameter & wall thickness) to re-do the seat section...
