    Seat choices, help me choose

I just purchased the Nine Hundred seat from Roc City. Here is the link http://www.roccitycafe.com/nine-hundred-cafe-racer-seat. Someone was kind enough to send me message letting me know to check that one out thinking it would be wide enough at the front and fit the lines of the tank as well...

    Been lurking awhile

Is that why we build these bikes? Once you start drinking it's safer to just stay in the garage and work on the bike. Anyway, welcome from a rather newbie here.

    First bike/first build: 1970 CL350

Looking good! When it comes to the carb jetting, make one change at a time, and keep notes. You will probably have to pull the carbs because you need to see if the needle has been shimmed and what jets are in it. I would start by increasing the main jet and do a WOT test. Figure out where...

    Seat choices, help me choose

I agree with you about the original design of the seat. However, it looks like a factory built bike. I want to build an original looking bike, within reason. At least, that is what my plan is now. Decision, decisions.

Vintage Japanese Bike Swap meet in York 8/16-17-18

I've heard good things about the show and plan to go Saturday and/or Sunday morning. I have not decided if I am riding down or taking the truck and some money. I was at the Blue Bell show last weekend too. My wife and daughter went along and then we headed to my brothers house to see them and...

    Seat choices, help me choose

Alright, the time has come, I need to buy my seat pan. I am ready to get this project going on my GS450. I posted last week about buying or making a seat, I plan to buy one. Here is the post: http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=52120.msg582156#msg582156 Now I need to decide on the...

    1976 Honda CB360t

I agree with the majority here, keep it original. From your question I can tell you agree or you have already started removing parts. If you don't want an original, sell it and use the profit to buy one to cut up and all the parts you need. Nice find, I'm jealous.

    New here from PA

Wow, Big Rich is smart, Voigner is one of my go to wines. But I'm more of a beer guy. Thanks for pointing out the E, I was wondering about the fender. Yes, I joined GSResources. The Sock Monkey build is a beautiful bike and is definitely inspiration for the XS500.

Cafe seat, buy or make pros and cons

Thanks. I am a DIY'er. That is how I started my business many years ago. Now I do everything on my bikes, but sanding for hours and hours, and hours does not sound like fun. I am struggling with the fact that I would like it to fit the bike perfectly though. Decisions, decision.

Cafe seat, buy or make pros and cons

Hi all, I am about to start assembling parts for my first cafe project, GS450S. I have looked all over the internet for seats and have found a few that I like. At the top of the list is a seat from Carpy's http://www.cb750cafe.com/products-page/seats/the-vincent-seat/. However, I thought...

74 Honda CB550 Four - Newbie enters the arena...

There are two options, ultrasonic cleaner, or chem dip. I spent the money on the ultrasonic cleaner and use it all the time. I have used many different things from soap to cleaners, all seem to give pretty good results. The chem dip is nice, but takes time. You should also have a compressor...

74 Honda CB550 Four - Newbie enters the arena...

You have a great attitude! I am no master mechanic myself, but I am getting by and learning as I go. I think most here learned the same way as your about to. Just give it a try, might not get it the first time, but the second time is always easier than the first. I am slowly becoming the...

1982 gs 750 cafe racer build problem

Check the little things. I think we often think it is something we did when it won't start right away. Did you drain a bowl to make sure you have gas flowing? If it ran before, and all you did was clean them I would bet it is something else, something simple.

    gs450 project from Aus

I enjoyed your project. I recently decided to cafe a 81 GS450L that I have. I am going to start with just a budget build and see where it goes. I know you got another master cylinder working, but did you check the return hole? I rebuilt the MC and caliper only to discover the problem was a...

    New here from PA

I will get some pics up but I don't really have any good ones right now. I would rather ride than polish and take pictures of them. If I'm not riding or with the family, I working on one. I will dig some up at some point.

    New here from PA

Hi all, I'm new here, been lurking while planning for a cafe build. I currently own 4 bikes but that changes frequently. Right now in the garage is: 1997 Harley Ultra Classic (future bagger project) 1985 Honda Nighthawk 450 (nice original bike with 8K, for the wife) 1981 Suzuki GS450L (was...
