Finally got around to putting on the new to me oil pan. The assembly for the oil pickup had to come off to get all of the ancient paper gasket off though.

Front brakes are done. New exhaust clamps are in, new (to me) front fender is on the way, as well as a new chain, new to me oil pan, new oil pan gasket, and a new oil filter. Hopefully she'll be back on the road in the next week or two!

Honestly, it's almost entirely for looks. You can't run pods on the stock carbs and get the bike to run right. Even great carbs for bikes are so cheap compared to parts for my cars that, well, hey, why not.

Just bit the bullet and ordered a front end with straight forks off of another cb900f. It's high time I got cranking on this thing again and got her on the road!

I sure did.I just layed a piece of masking tape across the tabs that aligned with the bottom of the seam on either side of the tab. After completely draining it of gasoline of course. Then use my trusty cutoff wheel to remove the offending parts.
