And yes -- I did drop the bike off the back of my truck and thrashed the side cover and seat so the bike would have some patina ;)

No, I didn't document: They are Mikuni VM32's with intake manifolds and universal 2-into-1 throttle cable from Dime. Definitely gained horsepower and fuel efficiency and the throttle response is much improved over the stock carbs. I installed the MAC 2-1 exhaust system before the Mikunis and...

OK. I got the new exhaust installed and the tank painted. I've been riding the hell out of it, so I might just call it finished. I'll upload some better photos soon. Thanks for all the help, guys!

Thanks, man. I've hardly made any progress and actually had a couple setbacks. I'm installing new exhaust this week, so I'll upload...

I removed the indicator light harness and re-wrapped the main harness so that it would fit under the tank on top of the spine of the frame. It still needs a lot of work. The battery is supposed to mount under the seat so that it's clean. I'll try to take some pics next time I have the tank off...

Yeah, this could be cool. I'll do some photoshop-ing and see what's up...

I did have gaiters on, but they were busted. I took them off and liked the look without. Your concern is aesthetic or function? It obviously still has the rubber 'seals' in place...

Here's the latest... Got the seat back from the upholstery shop. Wasn't cheap since I had them shape the foam, but it turned out a little better than I expected. I was going for a kind of "mid 70's Volvo/Mercedes baby-poop tan". I think they nailed it... It's obviously not done, but I got it...

Thanks for the vote. We'll have to see how it goes. I do know from experience that it's usually a hell of a lot easier to make metal shorter rather than longer -- so, we got that going for us...

Thanks, man. Supposedly a matte finish, but I'd describe it as satin. Rather it have more sheen than less -- so I'm glad it went that way. I'm just gonna keep going an if the tail still seems long after I get it together then I'll just hack it off. For some reason you seem like the type of guy...

Waiting for the glass to cure. I did the "plastic over metal tape over blue tape" technique that you've probably seen in other builds. I used three sheets of fiber and flooded it with resin and hardener and used cooking spray on the plastic as a release agent. I wanted to make sure that I molded...

I'm a little concerned about the seat loop being too long. It extends well past the rear wheel center. Is this thing gonna look like a banana seat? I guess we'll have to wait and see... The rear wheel axle is almost all the way forward because of the new chain. I guess it'll stretch a bit...

This thing is starting to look a little bit like a motorcycle. I still need to make a seat get the tank painted and do all the wiring, but at least I can start to see the end game. I need to lower the forks, so if you guys have any advice on that -- it'd be appreciated. Here's what we got so far:

Thanks for the encouragement, man... I got the wheels with the tires mounted. I think the front is backwards. It "looks" right, but the arrow on the side is pointing the wrong way -- I think...Anybody have experience with these 705s? They also managed to splatter oil all over them. Oh, well...

The bottom clevis only needed a couple washers for spacers. I didn't tighten everything up too much since I have to do a little more welding for the electronics bracket and some more painting:
