Got the fork bent back into shape by a pretty skilled and old timer type motorcycle guy. Turns out I may have progressive springs as well since they are well below that of spec and there is at least a 2" spacer in the tube. Forks are being put back together and initial tests look promising.

Thanks Mobius. I am aware of how things are put together. It was the test of rotating the upper tubes in the trees which led me to find out that the forks are bent. Working on getting them either straightened or find replacements.

Its not crazy bent... but enough. Other issue is that this is a 1 year specific bike and no other forks can directly swap over.

Turns out I have a bent fork tube.

#3 slides over #2 to allow the spacer to not be all floppy between the bearings, but yes its all installed.

Yah everything slides in much nicer now. Its just the rotor spacing on the left side giving me grief.

Verified with 3 different exploded diagrams.

You will need to pull the clutch cover and everything is behind there. Once your there replace some o-rings and make sure all gears are in place. Pretty simple really.

A shop in my town has a T500 for sale. Hasn't moved because most people know nothing about 2 strokes.

Bars were changed long ago and for something stupid and goofy. Going to throw some low euro bars on for better handling. The bike is fun to ride and definitely a different look to everyone and their Honda's.

We all know that shaft bikes have a higher percentage of power train loss compared to those with a chain. If you were looking at an older bike say mid 70s to late 80s would you be more inclined to go with a chain over a shaft? Would it be more to do with the CCs of the bike? Or would you just...

Well not sure if it will be around in time but a xv920 just popped up that is a chain drive. If its around I will be checking it out. It had at least 52,000km on it says the PO and the starter issue unfortunately.
