Unique Cafe Racer that is not like every other Honda cafe you see. 1980 Suzuki GS750E with approx 30k miles. The has been torn down and built back up in Cafe spirit. Lots of new parts and the bike looks great and rides strong. I have 3 young kids so no time to ride so it's just sitting. $4300...
It's not a new pack, the same one thats been on there. I measured and all is within specification, but I even lowered the weight of the oil to 5w40 so I'm thinking the fibers need replaced since it works fine after warming up.
So I removed the basket agaain last night and everything apears to be in really good condition. I adjusted the cable to get as much pull on the shaft as possible, but after riding it this morning it's still the same thing. I've noticed that its always harder to shift into 2nd gear and after...
I think when I installed the cable on the rod, I turned the rod as far right as I could and then installed the cable. Is that not correct? Kind of hard for me to understand how this works. sorry
Now if #21 is rod you are referring to I remember it feeling loose when I put the basket back together, but this seemed to be normal since there was really only one way to put it back together. Are you saying that the long rod with the teeth didn't grab the small rod enough so it's not pulling...
Yea, it's parallel. I use the Rotella dino oil and even lowered the weight to 5w40 thinking it was too thick when it was cold, but there wasn't any change. I'm out of ideas...
So I finally am finished with my first café from a 1980 Suzuki 750e which you can see the before and after below. Everything is running great except I have clutch drag where I really have to jam it in gear with the foot lever. It seems like after 20 mins or so of riding it improves greatly. I've...
Ok so last year I painted my engine using VHT silver and black paint with a clear coat. Two things happen that I would like to avoid this time around. 1. During me syncing the carbs the top end of the motor yellowed a bit which I think maybe it got too hot. 2. I did have a float stuck and...
Well I think I'm done for this season with the bike so thanks to everyone that helped. I think I will run with the bare tank this year and paint everything black over the winter. SOme of the items I would like to work on would be a RF garage door opener, maybe rig up some type of small gas guage...
That's what I did, jumpered it and they are connected to each other in the bucket. What's weird is nothing changed since it ran for a minute until now so the circuit is the same besides the open ignition switch.
Ok...I've been working on this all night and have narrowed it down to and switch problem.
I opened up the ignition switch and the orange wire had 12v going into the kill switch, but when I checked the other o/w wire leaving the kill switch going to the run button it had no power in the run...
I thought I could bypass the ignition switch for now by applying voltage to the start switch wire (green) then if I see a spark I could then connect the ignition switch. What I'm doing now is taking a loose wire from the positive side of the batter and touching the green connector from the...
Ok, so I've mounted everything temporarily, but it's not started. I hear it cranking, but when I have one of the spark plugs out still attached to the plug and grounded I'm not seeing a spark from any of the plugs. I've attached a crude diagram how everything is currently connected and the...
