Today we took apart both carbs and cleaned out a few small blockages. Mainly fuel gunk from stale fuel as the bikes been sitting for a while.
We also took the front hub off and regreased the drum lobes....much better lever feel now.

oops havent replied for ages. sorry..the powdercoaters sandblasted everything first to rough it up.
So anyway, the projects still goin....2014 will be the year we finish this bike.
After months and months waiting, we got our compliance plate remade.

manifolds were modified stock ones..with radiator hose and hose clamps.
can't remember where carbs were from....we had to wait a few months to get our hands on them!

iginition was called petronix...i think we got it off les barker from vintage advantage. A quick go on the google machine should pull his details up for you.
so we got the bell end cut off the stacks.
ID of the stacks was a tad to small of the carb...
thanks mate:) the left hand switchblock is an ebay job...had a few weird functions though. The switch which normally flashes highbeam was a killswitch?! strange....
also try dime city. I think they have some switchblocks as well..
milestone today. We are practically done with the wiring!...well...almost.
we worked through the whole weekend to get it done :D

rear loom looks ugly but is done. will be hidden with tape etc.
also did the quick turn throttle mod.

geebus...it's been over 3 months since we've updated this thread...time to get it moving again!
so we've resorted the fuelling...got some inline fuel filters and replaced the bunning pvc hose with some proper fuel hose.
now for some custom stuff.

we had to get the exhaust redone as there was no clearance with our rearsets.
some nice welding work done by brad :thumbsup:
wrapped up both exhausts.
next we turned to the inlet manifolds.
As we're running non standard VM-20s the manifolds were slightly off so we cut slots in them to...
still going.
we bought some coils and mounted them.
decided the tacho we got wasnt gonna work on the bike with a speedo so we ditched in in favour of this one.
and just the other day we got some rare VM20s.
we had to wait about 3 months to get our hands on these.
new battery as well...
yeah most of our parts are off ebay.
dime city cycles is basically the only online store we regularly hit up for parts.
so today we got our bike back from garageprojects.
we got them to weld up a mid pipe between our headers and new mufflers.
came up nicely with some heat wrap.
also...
mocked up the exhaust today and took stock of what we need to do to make it work.
flipped the gear linkage to get more clearance and we'll need to remake one of the rods.
also most likely need to get our existing headers reworked to allow for a larger curve so the midpipe that we'll get made...

expensive indicators but quality!
the rims are powdercoated satin black. they sandblasted the rim before pcoating it....i'm not sure if thats abrasive enough to remove the chrome...

tonight we fitted the electronic ignition.
took the engine out and torqued up all the head bolts. snapped one in the process but an ezy out saved the day
made up a bracket for the rear light and got it mounted. pics are a bit dark but i'll get more in the daylight next time. we're well...

Thanks:) i'll have a closer look next time I go over to work on the bike but i know it was a michelin M45. I'll have to double check the size..
so anyway yesterday we started on the linkages
came out alot better...
