SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Thanks for the info zap, was thinking along the same lines and tested every wire combination, but still no luck. It only works with the green (blue) as ground, but no difference in light output between yellow or brown. Running light is still as bright as the brake light. Wire harness works ok...

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Maybe someone can help my with my brake light. I ordered this type of light: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/28-LEDs-3W-12V-Motorcycle-Rear-Light-Led-Bike-Rear-Tail-Stop-Brake-Light-Number-Plate/1453866_32228023677.html And wired it accordingly. Green to ground, yellow to running and...

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Thanks Jadus! I ordered my cables online from Rick Donkers (from The Netherlands). He has a lot of choice, pretty cheap and doesn't have to ship too far (to Belgium). I know he ships through Europe for 15€, but you will only know for sure once you make your account. Nice quality stuff, and a...

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Well, thanks for the info and healthy discussion guys ;D Cosworth is right in saying the stock SR front end is flimsy and soft, but since i'm not racing my SR i'm not really interested in a super tight front end. For now the lowered forks make her steer a bit better, which is cool for some sunny...

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Thanks for the tips guys. I guess i'll be using the standard oil yamaha recommends, but the springs do need a good cleaning and refill. At the moment you can hear the springs compress, so i guess she's a bit dry. Oh, and nice touch with the 12 gauge cosworth ;)

Thanks Ease. She will be finished by this spring, and probably get a decent shoot.

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Thanks Brodie. I actually have no idea yet, didn't test them yet. The rear stock was a city demon, and those were the only ones on sale in it's size. Actually, the front is a rear tyre too :P

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

I like the way she sits for now, it's only weird in pictures but while driving it's perfect, so i'm not going to do it anytime soon Brodie. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks guys. I was thinking about lowering the front forks, but didn't really want to mess too much with suspension. If you have some info i'll be glad to take a look at it.

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

A little later than promised, but finally the sun came out so i pushed her down the driveway and managed to get a few shots. She still needs a lot of work (tidying up the wires, mounting turn signals and bar end mirrors, fixing the electrical problems, etc.) After looking at these images i still...

Thanks Desmo! We bought the house, so next spring i'll be all set for fixing more bikes. Pics will probably follow tomorrow (It's so cold outside the dogs are sticking to the fire hydrants)

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Thanks for asking and sorry for the long delay. Been househunting for the past six months, so she had to wait. At the moment she is fully assembled (except for oil and gas), but the electrical problem still persists. I can take some pictures on sunday morning, but there's still no time for...

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Re: SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid) [PIC HEAVY] Thanks Brodie. It's been a while again. Spent my holiday trying to finish the bike, then ran into some troubles with the electrics, then got sick, and now she's still waiting to be finished. She's about 90% ready...

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Thanks guys! The point of this bike was to learn a lot more about mechanics and fabrication, so i'm trying my best tot do everything myself. For now the only things i outsourced were the powdercoat and saddle upholstery.

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Sorry for the delay, but i had to finish everything for powdercoat. I already used up half of my vacation for reassembly, so i've got this week left to finish up. She's looking sweet already, but before i show you guys anything i have to start with the story of the teardown :) I'll try to...

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

What did you alter regarding your jetting? I went up 2 on the pilot and 1 on the main (mixture screw 1,5 turns out), but i guess i'll have to start over when i'll be using the K&N. Best response i had was +1 on the pilot and the mixture screw out 2,5 turns, everything else stock. But this makes...

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Thanks for the tips guys. Been busy sanding, blasting and painting stuff, so missed these posts apparently. I ended up ordering the oval tapered K&N filter that's used by the XS650 crowd, to some success. Will see how it works out when the bike is up and running again. @zap2504: Went shopping...

SR250 Brat/Street Tracker - First Build (aka Little Trouble Kid)

Thanks guys. Found the same explanation about the lip inside the cheap pods blocking the inlet ports (http://www.caferacer.net/forum/project-builds/22163-81-suzuki-gs1000gl.html#post280105). Mine doesn't seem to be blocked completely, but well enough for it to get less airflow than the stock...

Thanks Brodie. I know the EMGO pod is a cheap knock-off filter, so i'm looking for a K&N one (preferably the oval XS400 one), possibly with a velocity stack inside to emulate the stock airbox, but i still have to go to the shop and figure things out. At least it's on my ever growing to-do list ;)
