NJ VIN verification with only bill of sale

I live in NJ and have done VT registration multiple times. Bring all your VT paperwork and a picture of the VIN on the bike. IIRC, they want multiple pictures but definitely the VIN. It was pretty painless.

Suzuki GT550 Buy it or not?

From my understanding a Suzuki Triple is nothing like an RD. It was marketed as a more commuter style bike. I never heard that about the cylinders. All and all it looks like a clean bike.

    Suzuki GT185 forks

Try new springs and possibly a steering stabilizer. Made a huge difference on my RD350.

    Calling All Two-Stroke Guru's

Use genuine Mikuni parts not suduco carb kits. I run the pump on all my Yamaha bikes. Buy a rebuild kit for the pump and do it yourself. They are very reliable. You should at least inspect your top end before starting. My mentor would slap me if I didn't tell you to do the crank seals. With...

    Thinking about '82 Honda 650

Hi guys. I'm looking at picking up a spare bike that will get used occasionally when my brother visits NJ from Cali. I just want something that will run. Getting married soon and don't want to tinker too much. I came across a 1982 Honda CB650 Nighthawk for 1k. It's garage kept and everything...

    Gold Air Fork Caps

I have a pair of gold DG style air fork caps. I thought they would fit my RD350 but they are not long enough. I have no idea what bike they belong to. Maybe someone here can help out. Add some bling to your bike $60 w/ free shipping. IMG_20160226_161959 by Dave Dogg, on Flickr...

Yamaha rd350 Road Racer Liquid Cooled!!

Re: Yamaha rd350 road racer RD350 takes shorter plugs than the 400. Unless you are running DG heads on a RD350.

Yamaha rd350 Road Racer Liquid Cooled!!

Re: Yamaha rd350 road racer I don't know what you plan on doing with the bodywork. But it might be cool to keep the dirt (I mean patina) on this old road racer.

    RD350 project

Get this stabilizer. Night and day difference. Bolts right up to the RD. https://www.mikesxs.net/yamaha-xs650-adjustable-hydraulic-steering-damper.html I also bought a repop master cylinder from Mike XS and used a direct SS brake line with the stock caliper. It works great.

    The Little Cub That Could

So my flywheel fits. But the point does not open and close when I turn the flywheel. It seems like there is no lobe to open the point. Is it possible it is worn down? I have not had this problem before.

    The Little Cub That Could

Snapped the rings while trying to clean them. Have a set coming in hopefully next week. Finally got the the right combo of point and flywheel but still no spark. I think I'll just get a new coil and condenser instead of fumbling around with the old ones.

    The Little Cub That Could

Thanks guys. I broke the rings trying to get them off. I ordered a new set that are on their way. The first point I got was wrong. So I ordered the right Denso point. I ordered a magneto/flywheel but it seems to be a really tight fit. I was trying to get it on with a rubber hammer. My...

    The Little Cub That Could

Cylinder is smooth except at the very top I can feel a little rust. Do you mean clean the rings on the piston? Like use a brass brush? Thanks for your help!

Some more pics. What do you guys think of the cylinder and piston? IMG_20160926_160600 by Dave Dogg, on Flickr IMG_20160926_160539 by Dave Dogg, on Flickr IMG_20160926_160502 by Dave Dogg, on Flickr IMG_20160926_160432 by Dave Dogg, on Flickr IMG_20160926_160922 by Dave Dogg, on Flickr

    The Little Cub That Could

Hi guys. This is my first build on this forum. I usually work on two strokes but picked up a 1964 Honda CA100 Cub for my girl. I know the bike is the best selling bike of all time or something like that but am having some trouble finding info and parts. I'm hoping the DTT crew can help me out...

    1971 Kaw F8 Bison 250 goin' down.

Since it's a two stroke... check your timing and change those old crank seals before you give your piston a moonroof.

    Yam RD "Blue Dream"- Ride,Maintain,Tune

DG's aren't doing much to help low end. The stock pipes hit the power band earlier than most pipes. So for a relatively stock engine and wanting drivability stocks pipes are great. I put DG's on a bone stock RD400 engine but then put the stocks pipes on and haven't looked back. A much better...

Yamaha rd350 Road Racer Liquid Cooled!!

Re: Yamaha rd350 road racer Pretty sure you cannot use banshee pistons on a R5. The R5 is piston port and doesn't have the windows that the reed valve RD and banshees have.

    Rebuilt 1976 RD400 for Sale

Hey guys. I'm looking to sell my RD400. I simply don't ride it much any more. I don't like my bikes to sit so it's time to let it go. Plus my dog just got $5,000 back surgery. The only cosmetic flaw is the left muffler has acid stains on it. Only on the muffler, not the swingarm or frame. Let me...
