I probably knew that, haha. Ok, so tonight I will re-check the timing on the bike. Still seems strange as the timing shouldnt have shifted since it ran.

CB350 weak spark & arcing - HELP! (searched)

Understood, I will double check the mounting points tonight for the engine. New plug wires should be arriving today but i did cut and clean my existing plug wires with no success. Assuming its not the plug wires, anything i could be checking?

CB350 weak spark & arcing - HELP! (searched)

UPDATE - I decided to try and run a jumper cable from the spark plug threads directly to the neg terminal to see if I'd get spark back. It worked flawlessly on both terminals. What does this mean?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

CB350 weak spark & arcing - HELP! (searched)

Ok so I pulled out the multimeter and had 13v at all the above test points (the battery was on a charger but was off during testing). I also checked the resistance from the engine case to the negative terminal just to be safe and it read between .4-.6 (ignition off) and 1.1 (ignition on) Sent...

CB350 weak spark & arcing - HELP! (searched)

Hey guys, So i'm driving down the road last weekend and out of nowhere I lose spark. The bike dies on the side of the road. Since then I have not been able to start it again. That evening after getting the bike home I removed the ignition place to find the ignition rotor had a broken tab. I...

    74 CL 360 ENGINE TROUBLE

i would definitely take a look at the bowl heights and make adjustments if necessary. Also check: Battery, coils, condensor, plugs, plug wires, etc - Cutting out like that sounds electrical and especially if there isnt enough juice create a good spark And definitely check timing and points

72 cb350 twin points problem (searched) - Ive tried it all

xb33bsa, so it seems all that is left is carb adjustments and strobe timing to get this thing drivable seeing as all other variables have been addressed. Ill report back with an update. Anything else i should be taking a look at?

72 cb350 twin points problem (searched) - Ive tried it all

Hey everyone, I pulled the carbs back off and tore each one down to check for anything that might stand out as odd or incorrect. I noticed both floats were a little bit off (even though these were one of the first things i checked when i started having issues.) I replaced the slow jet and...

72 cb350 twin points problem (searched) - Ive tried it all

Hey xb33bsa, I rechecked the valve clearances at .002 intake and .004 exhaust, threw my old k&n pod filters on, reset the cam tensioner at 90 degrees past TDC. I don't have a compression tester but will get one later in the week to check that. No white smoke or anything like that. But plenty of...

72 cb350 twin points problem (searched) - Ive tried it all

Haha xb33bsa, good advice. I adjust the valves once but it was my first time ever doing it so I'll go back and do it again. I'm having longer pipes made (if I could ever get the bike to the shop....) and I'll recheck all this with the filters on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

72 cb350 twin points problem (searched) - Ive tried it all

Hey Cxman, I've checked for air leaks and silicone'd the intake boots to double checked for leaks with starter fluid. Seventeescycle, the points are brand new and gapped correctly and I can see them firing with the cap off while it's running. I used a static light to check the timing on it. Any...

72 cb350 twin points problem (searched) - Ive tried it all

Hello, Update here, I pulled both mixture screws out two turns from closed and unfortunately no matter what the setting I can't find myself being able to ditch these backfires. I rechecked the points and timing, checked the ignition switch, the battery to make sure we had a good charge, carbs...

72 cb350 twin points problem (searched) - Ive tried it all

So a little update here, SHE RUNS!! I swapped the coils and she fired for me then eventually was able to hold an idle. I am able to keep it running at one full turn out on each mixture screw but am getting a LOT of backfiring when trying to rev it. Am I still too lean? Sent from my iPhone...

72 cb350 twin points problem (searched) - Ive tried it all

Sonreir, I did as you said and without touching the points or the timing plate I saw that the left plug fired exactly when the rotor passed the index mark at "F" and the right plug fired when the rotor passed at "LF". I could have sworn I timed this correctly the first time (did not do the spark...
