    1980 CM400T... first bike

rearsets are done... I replaced the hardware with LONGER grade 12.9 bolts, and replaced the heim joints (from MW control) on the linkage. They are MUCH stiffer than before and fit well. My one problem is that the angle of the brake lever is odd as i need to make sure it doesn't hit the...

New rod ends are in the mail. Thanks Losmanja for the link to buy them. I have also been replacing the hardware with grade 12 bolts. The rearsets feel great. the brake side. Untitled by Amehl, on Flickr again... totally confident with the mounting points and with the new hardware.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I am going to get on that. New rod ends for sure, new hardware for the peg. That should prevent(or delay) failure. I gotta make them work or I'm out $85!

    1980 CM400T... first bike

Ok I mounted them up. I'll post pics later. With everything loctited and secured, the rearsets look good and are solid. I am 100% confident on the mounting points and pretty satisfied with my leg position. I just need to hook up a return spring for a little better feel. I am going to use...

    1980 CM400T... first bike

Noted. I am using 2 mounting points. One on the aluminum block to hold the position of it, and one using the passenger peg mount (pretty large hardware). As you can see the bolt on the peg hardware is holding the weight of the rider as it was before I put the new rearsets on. Like I said, the...

    1980 CM400T... first bike

You know I wouldn't have even thought of the rearsets catching my pants or shoes. Originally I was going to chop them down for a cleaner look, but I didn't want to "ruin" my new rearsets. Do you think I should just trim them? It definitely makes sense. Hey go easy on the carpet in The...

    1980 CM400T... first bike

I definitely see what you mean. Also it is a little hard to see in the pictures. I think With the logo parallel it might be a but stiffer, but I can guarantee not by much. There is zero flex in the back plate on the mounting point. Also keep in mine when I say flex, I mean when I have 100% of...

    1980 CM400T... first bike

Well I have the right side apart... Untitled by Amehl, on Flickr The left side is mounted, I am ordering the linkage pieces in a week, but it seems like it will be super easy to mount up. Untitled by Amehl, on Flickr The only problem is I am getting a bit of flex in the peg. Definitely due...
