81 CB750K Part out. Lowered Prices

Hey guys, I've decided to hold off on a resto and just ended up buying a 2000 Nighthawk 750. I have a 81 CB750K I'm parting out. I've rebuilt the carb bank with all new seals, O-rings, stock jets, and polished caps. Theses were ran through an ultrasonic and every port cleaned out with guitar...

PLEASE HELP!!! - 1981 cb750c - Bobber - JETTING ISSUES - PODS and STRAIGHT PIPES

If it is running lean when you get on it, could be the accelerator pump or jets. Why not ditch the pods? These carbs are infamous for being difficult with them.

    '81 CB750k Tracker - Build #3

This might be a silly question, but I haven't gotten this far. Doesn't the tach cable go into the engine? How did you block that hole?

Did you ditch the tach, or does the one gauge have both coming into it? I have the same bike, and hate how huge the gauges are but would like to retain them. Also, your key placement is genius. Any pics you could show of the triple tree / gauge area would be helpful. Not saying I'll copy cat...

1980 SR250 Weird idle on decel.

Ended up being the engine to carb boot was looser than it should have been. I think once it got warm it would get a little leak. And when I'd ease out the clutch, change in vacuum would pull it back good.

    CB750 Fork woes

Guys, I'm pretty damn confused. I have a 1981 CB750K. I am tearing it down and see I have air forks. The FSM shows I shouldn't so I'm thinking someone did a swap. However I only have one front rotor like a K is supposed to. Does anyone know if that air assist stuff can be removed? I think...

1980 SR250 Weird idle on decel.

Hey guys, I've been getting my gf's SR250 ready for her and I have an odd issue. It runs/starts fine. But when you're coming up to a stop, it will hang on its RPM's. But here is the weird part. If you're stopped and let the clutch out a touch in first, it will come down and stay down. Even...

I just ran them with plain water a couple of times after rinsing to be sure all the vinegar was worked out. If they are super greasy use 50/50 pinesol and water

    '81 CB750k Tracker - Build #3

The engine provides the vacuum, the air box causes it to even out between strokes. The design he did will surely do that. The problem with pods is they are too individual. The outer cylinders run lean, and the slides have trouble being smooth. This fabbed air box will eliminate cross wind and...

Save the carb cleaner for tough stuff. Use water /vinegar or pinesol for really greasy things. Carb cleaner is nice but a pain in the ass to dispose of.

    CB750 Tracker First Build

I did the bigger one. The little one is too small, a carb at a time takes forever. I used vinegar and water and only took a few 8 minute cycles. Here's a before and after. http://m.imgur.com/a/muWx3 And I polished my top caps. I used a green conditioning pad to even them up. Then some white...

    81 CB750K Brake options

I think the single rotor bikes have an offset hub while the dual rotors have flat rotors, so I'm not sure if the caliper would line up right. I was hoping 750c or f trees/forks could be bolted on, but I can't find any cross info, and don't want to drop the money on parts that won't work. I'm...

    81 CB750K Brake options

Hey Guys, I'm trying to find some info and having trouble. I have searched around a little bit. I have an 81 CB750K that I'm currently working on fixing up. The stock braking is a little spooky to me, and I'd love to upgrade. My current system is single rotor and rear drum. I'm curious if...
