Very nice work. Have you considered using velocity stacks as an interface to the carburetors? That is what I was thinking of doing with my project, to allow the air turbulence to smooth out as it enters the carbs.

spark, clean carbs, good compression. SHE WONT START.

Check this vid, the portion on points. The system needs to be isolated so that the circuit can be broken, otherwise the circuit will go straight to ground and not break when the points are open. http://youtu.be/W94iksaQwUo

I think you have it wired wrong. There is no isolation between the wires the way you have it. Check this pic..

You must have a short somewhere that is not allowing the points to function properly. Hard to tell with pics. Simply, points are just an on/off switch. Trace the circuit and find the short.

    Idea for a cafe ?

I'm thinking the stubby is cool, but IMO it just needs to be stretched out slightly longer, so that the aft end is over the center of the rear wheel. Maybe a less bulbous hump and a little flatter seat profile.. JMHO.. :)

    Rusty gas! ARGHHHHH!!!!

Like teaser has said black smoke is most likely too rich, blue white would be burning oil. Maybe it is just your mixture is out, or float is stuck Did you use anything to clean the tank, did you clean that substance out completely, is the gas you are using brand new gas or gas that has been...

On a side note, I believe most of the 3" KN cone filters are quite large. It might look huge behind your air box. Is there a certain one you were looking at using?

Looks great, I think it'll work out just fine. I have a similar idea as well and hope that it will work. I too have a little while before I am ready to start on this part of my project. Thank you for sharing and hope to see great results with your design.

    Cb750 Dual Carb Intake Design

Your bike is clean! Lov it. .. I have an idea for an 'air box' of sorts that I am planning to do when my carbs come in. It consists of runners from the carbs to a 'box' and one larger air filter at the entrance.

Zacktly Seems like a bunch o demcrats here that can get over a differing POV with out shitting all over your idea. I guess I'll have to opt out of the discussion here since it is getting nowhere. Thanks for trying tho. :)
