1981 Suzuki GN400 - Single City

So the bike is getting so close I can feel it, I actually got it running and rode it down the block with no seat or anything and hand throttled the carb just to make sure wiring would work and everything was okay before I did my final approach.

A little hard to tell but the back of the frame has two small lights that are integrated blinkers which was the plan from the get go. Those turned out pretty nice and i don't have blinkers hanging off the frame.

The exhaust is also finished, I will most likely redo in a few weeks as it didnt turn out as "flowy" as I would like. That was my first time ever doing an exhaust so it will do for the time being.

Looks great so far. im interested to see what you do with the wonderful 6v system we have.
I am running about as simple as possible with the 6volt system. 1 light switch and a brake switch and that is it. A kill switch but no key or anything, This bike is mostly just for running to get coffee and a beer at local spots so I am not too concerned.

OP can likely confirm but I am going to guess those sizes were the best he could do in that tire for his rims etc.
I was very restricted by tires that looked well together and I could get in the appropriate sizes. I wanted a big meety front tire and that is pretty much what I got. Again performance wasnt my biggest issue nor handling. This bike is more built for running around town and yelling at friends, maybe jumping a few curbs and terrorizing any local girls I can spot.

Super cool! Love the frame color, and the turn signals are a nice touch. Its coming together nicely!

So I finally finished my build and had the time to take some pictures. Since I finished it I have put a few hundred miles on it now including freeway, up and down PCH, a few miles on some mountain dirt roads and have even jumped it on the local bike jumps just for good measure. The little GN400 is a blast to ride around and with it being so light weight it is quite the ripper.

Holy Smokes, that is one good looking bike. Awesome work. Thanks for documenting the process for us. Congrats on a sweet little ripper!
